Just as well he didn't compare him to a cyclops or else Top Gear would be looking for a new host, although its the BBC and JC is a bit of a bigger name than Carole Thatcher so he'd have got away with it.

Personally I think the eye insult is bit below the belt, but then again Clarkson isn't particularly known for his tact and diplomacy.

[ 1 ] the moron dosent posess brains [ 2 ] i doubt if he could spell the word tact [ 3 ] he is an obnoxious bighead who dosent know any better :nutter:, says a lot for his upbringing

sorry taf but imo the brits are bursting at the seams with idiots.:erm:

The point though is not necessarily what is said, it's how it's said and in what context. Judging by the article linked in the original post, Clarkson got it spot on.

i wonder what your views would be on the civil rights mob as you call them if any of your loved ones was afflicted by blindness ? very bad taste from a mod,

Does anybody expect anything different from Clarkson? his fans will think his great, but the vast majority will ignore him.

I think if you choose to be a British politician and then go for the top job you must make sure you have the broadest shoulders in the world and the thickest impenetrable skin. You cannot be the slightest bit vain because just about every political cartoonist and satirist will be making the most cruellest of comments and remarks. It's what politicians expect.Much, much worse has been said about them by journalists for as long as we have had any kind of media...

It's not as if Clarkson made any jokes/comments about Brown's family unlike a certain other pair at the BBC.

No there are those who think it's fine to say anything however hurtful and distasteful as long as you don't mention race, religion or disability...

They were suspended, and they issued a full, and complete apology. Twice. Once to Sachs himself before the furore, and then a more public apology after.

Obviously you have never enjoyed his style of humour or wit tweetypie?

I think its refreshing that on his show he will have a dig at, take the urine or generally have a moan about anyone or anything that doesn't conform to planet Clarkson.

So what if he took the urine with his comments, he is only saying what the vast majority of the country is thinking and saying. Why should he apologise for his comments although his apology was only aimed at Browns personal appearance.

How many times has Brown stood there in the commons and said "We will be keeping one eye on the economy while doing blah, blah, blah".

Brown is big enough and certainly ugly enough to fight his own battles without having the jumped up PC brigade defending someone who has screwed over the British people.

Clarkson factually accurate

What a strange story for people to resolve their hatred of Clarkson, Gordon Brown and the BBC altogether.

That's no way to talk about our prime minister.

It's all true, of course, IMO..

Most of them in government...

---------- Post added at 12:12 ---------- Previous post was at 11:59 ----------

Does anyone else think that our government has an ulterior motive for furthering this fuss? Like diverting our attention from their complete cock up of the economy and their apparent failure to reign in the banks?

I also (seriously) don't see why the various blind societies are getting involved. No one has suggested a link between blindness and stupidity. JC was stating a fact when he stated that GB is one eyed and Scottish. He was stating an opinion when he said GB is an idiot (which is an opinion I happen to agree witg).

As for the MPs getting involved, I'd be surprised if they hadn't called him a lot worse..

you hit the nail on the head alferret i dont,he is a big spoiled mammys boy and a good dig in the mush would do him the world of good.

I think half the appeal of people like JC are that in a time where people seem to want vanilla personality he isn't and while most will not agree or even like his opinions the fact he won't toe a line laid down by others endears him to some. Sorry tweety i am not related to him though i have met him and chatted to him albeit briefly and can tell you that as fast as he can be to take the urine out of others he is just as quick to do it about himself and to a far greater degree. I actually like having people that talk their mind rather then the non offensive completely bland drivel most feel they have to speak these days to avoid getting into trouble.
