It's still open because IF the flaming and sniping dies down it could be a good thread for discussion about the merits of the different operating systems. If the flaming and sniping doesn't stop then it will be locked.

Or the OP can ask for it to be locked if he so desires.

Anyway, i have put Vista Home Premium on and it is all working fine had to try and find some drivers though but all is good now. I just need a new keyboard and mouse

I like the look of vista, but thats it.....

I think there will be new good looking themes for xp that make it look just like vista, not kind of like vista.

although, I have found on linux you can make it like aero if you chose and play around a bit...

I like both, dont both sides flame me now....

Heres another

Pidgon(gaim?) is already installed by default in any K/X/Ubuntu as it is any many others.
Most distros have a chat client of some sort i think.

The ones i`ve tried have anyway:)
