You can apparently get Sky Go on the Virgin Media L TV Pack according to that.

Just shows Sky are as bad at keeping their website accurate as Virgin Media.

Of course SKY will advertise it as exclusive until the day it is not. They'd be silly not to.

It proves Nialli was wrong when posting:

""Fact: Sky are no longer marketing Sky Atlantic as "Exclusive to Sky customers"

Another example of SKY still using the "exclusive" tag.

Sky ARE apparently considering launching a new 'Sky Bravo' channel and have, apparently, been in talks with Virgin Media about carrying it, but without agreement.

Looks like more is going on than meets the eye.

LOL, I like the analogy. Hate is far too strong a word for me to use though, I guess I was simply underwhelmed over the 10 years or so I used Sky. For much of that time in my life T.V. was important to me and VM's offering was so much poorer at the time. I did go through a stage of not wanting to pay the Murdouchs, but realized I would have to stop buying many, many films I liked. That said, I thought Sky+ was the best thing since sliced bread when it first came out:-)

In terms of VM, love is also too strong. I like the fact VM won't seemingly pay OTT for SA and want a good deal for BT Sports. Their customer service and engineers have been top notch whenever I have had a problem. However their communication (for new channels in particular) and channel acquisition is shockingly bad and could be improved very quickly in my eyes.

Even if I was allowed a dish on my flat, I would choose to stay with VM because it suits my needs at this current time. If there comes a time when I need to join Sky again, then I will, but I can't imagine I will be very impressed with their overall service.

All i am bothered about now is that the loss of channels [including an HD one!] is reflected in a price reduction NOW by Virgin Media.

Its outrageous they are sweeping this all under the carpet and not addressing it head on - simple FAQ on ARE WE GETTING REPLACEMENTs?

1) if NO then all packs (L to XL) should be reduced by £1-£3
2) if YES then details of which ones are in negotiation and timescales

Every commercial discussion should have deadlines and targets and if there aren't any and VM are just riding a driverless train then they are more unprofessional than I ever thought.

Oh well, now it's out in the public domain I feel comfortable sharing what I know about SKY's intentions for the new channel.

As suggested it's a male orientated channel. It’s going to have an adrenaline theme. A combination of sport and high octane American programming. The channel will also contain reality programming.

Think along the lines of Wrestling, Boxing, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Spartacus to get an idea of what the channel will feel like. I’m not suggesting these shows will be on the channel, but give a flavour of what SKY are looking to achieve.

It's too early to talk about replacements when BT Sport is just around the corner! It's coming, just have to be patient. My guess is that it will arrive on or immediately before 17th.

That's the price for holding out for the best deal available.

I really cant see Virgin cutting the prices of L or XL due to five channels (From Tuesday) being remove but Virgin may hold the prices of the L and XL Packages in 2014.

Don't forget, Chris, that the price didn't go up when Virgin did the original deal with Setanta. So why would it come down when the ESPN deal finishes?

Let's not jump to conclusions. A number of you seem to have concluded we are not getting BT Sports. You don't know that for a fact and VM's position remains that they are in talks and will let us know when they have news. They cannot communicate what hasn't happened yet.

Okay so "SKY Atlantic - exclusively on SKY" isn't word for word the same as "Exclusive to SKY customers" but ultimately SKY are still marketing the channel as a SKY exclusive.

Personally I'm a little gutted. SKY Atlantic launching on Virgin, along with BT Sports, would have gave me real reason to consider moving back from SKY come December. As a consumer, I want choice.

I am hearing that Sky may also be set to rebrand their Sky Arts Channels.

Here is the new channels names that I was told of -

-Sky Arts “In Concert”

Sounds like SKY are going through a rebranding exercise, and a reshuffling of their programming.

With "SKY Bravo" on the horizon I'm not too sure how much of a future the likes of Challenge TV, Pick TV and SKY 2 have.

I suppose if SKY are chopping and changing channels they would need to renegotiate their existing carriage deal with Virgin for the SKY basic channels. Maybe SKY Atlantic isn't a million miles away.

I think Sky will close Sky2 down to launch Sky Bravo.

As Sky2 is the only channel not to have an +1 or HD Channel as well as the main channel.

It real - I know Sky was working on the male channel months ago.

Sky Bravo - For men.
Sky Living - For Woman.
Sky Atlantic - For Family.
Sky1 - For Kids and Family.

It was. And probably still is - when I asked a Sky rep in Bluewater the other day if SA was a Sky exclusive she said "it is at the moment but we're not supposed to promote that"

Your Thinking of Live TV lol. Bravo Never Showed Topless Darts!

Other Channels I would Bring Back are TNT, ABC 1, Trouble and TCC Remember Those Channels?

Ah yes point conceded but if its a male orientated channel they should look no further than the wonders that was Live TV;, weather in Norweigan, big city new tips, alternative soccer saturday with Monster Eric Hall (whats the score? 0-0 who scored?)

such a poor budget but memorable programs (so bad they were good)

didnt they show a boxing match but with two actors listening to a feed and reacting the fight? was it bruno vs tyson, cant remember but it was original take on how to get round a sky box office exclusive, maybe Virgin should do that with BT sport and get two people watching the game and playing PS3pro evolution soccer to all matches we dont get and simulate the game for us

Sorry bud.

I really couldn’t share the information I had as I’d agreed not to disclose details when I took part in the research group. I did post a few hints about the channel about 6 weeks ago but couldn’t go into detail.

I wasn’t the only member of Cable Forum privy to the information. A few members have known details of this channel and it's content since the end of June.

Really? Its exactly the things Bravo was showing before it shut down, don't know what else you'd expect it to show.

I bet the WWE will be pleased with TNA going back to payTV anyway.

This is most likely wishful thinking, but the article inferred that Sky were keen for VM to carry Bravo, but VM weren't playing ball ATM.

Maybe VM are saying, yeah, we'll have Bravo on condition that you let us have Atlantic? But as I say, probably wishful thinking on my part.

l don't blame Virgin at all because if Sky said would you take our new channel Sky Bravo and then Sky turned round and said that you can't have Sky Atlantic and my answer would be get real.

The whole point of this thread is to give people a heads up to forthcoming changes/channels.

It seems hypocritical to avail oneself of the information supplied by others, whilst personally witholding information at the same time.

Don't you think that others take risks to provide information on here or to MB?

One HD (and SD) channel that I doubt will be coming to VM is Arise News HD. It was showing a testcard for two days, so was removed from tbe Sky EPG today. There have now been reports that the owner has not been paying his staff.

Are VM going to release a statement anytime soon saying what is going on with the acquisition of BT Sports, as this starting to become pathetic on their behalf.

Also, has anyone spoke to VM about the situation, and were they offered anything for the inconvenience?

that's the 64 million dollar question all we can do is wait till it comes and they cant say anything to a deal is done or all talks have broken down

If there are no talks and especially if there are no prospect of talks then it is true that they really should say something.

Yes l agree with you that they have to obey stock market rules but the day of reckoning is coming and if nothing happens by then l would expect a surge in the loss of customers come at the end of next week.

The only sticking point for me ATM is the Tivo, as it really is the best box on the market IMO. I am a BT Infinity customer, so I get BT Sports free anyway.

People keep saying this, but as I quoted last week from the sun newspaper, a BT spokesman said "We are prepared to wholesale the channel to Virgin Media but not for the price they are offering" to which a Virgin Media spokesman said "we are only interested in deals which are good value for our customers".

It depends how much Sky want VM to have Bravo. It surprises me that Sky are even bothered about VM taking Bravo, but if that article is correct, they obviously are.

Neither of us is privy to how much Sky value selling Bravo to VM, so your statement makes no sense.
