Can help you with 3-5 Snoopz

3. Probably not a massive update. The system updates aren't that big but some of the game updates can be and PSN content delivery is often not the fastest. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes waiting 4 hours or more for a title update to download. Lately it hasn't been too bad though.

4. PS+ titles you have to grab em while you can

5. The controller takes about a couple of hours to charge but the battery life is very poor. You'll be lucky if a full charge lasts 3-4 hours. Definitely buy a longer USB cable so you can play and charge. I bought a 1.8m one from ASDA and it still charges fine.

You can turn the brightness down on the light on the controller I think so it lasts a bit longer.

Cheers, had a few quid sitting in the wallet so picked it up. It's one of those games i've been meaning to buy for ages but somehow never do.

Who else buys cheap digital games from other country playstores?

I am finding it far cheaper now going 100% digital buying games from the US, Indonesian and UK playstores if i look out for the regular sales they have.

I use sites like psprices.com to compare prices across sites which also tells me of the flash sales then for the US site buy US credit online from another site and for the Indonesian site i use a virtual credit card called Resolut, all without any problems. All i have to do is make up an address for where i live on the PS stores but with the Resolut card it is my legit address seeing that is like a bank account.

You can then add the other accounts to your console and play using your normal UK account without restriction.

If anyone wants any info on how to do this drop me a message.

I'll get RDR2 when I can pick it up cheap digitally from either the US or Indonesian PSN store, most of my games cost less than £15 now digitally, my latest 2 are Assassin's Creed Origins Deluxe and God of War, got both for £31 total.

If anyone wants a PSN credit deal, you can currently get £35 PSN UK credit for £29.99 from CDkeys and if Hotukdeals is accurate on 7th June there will be a 30% deal on a PS+ UK subscription.

So if you purchase the £35 credit and then use that on the subscription deal you get it all for £29.99, this is for new and existing customers and you can stack your subscriptions.

Stephen there is a Days of Play sale starting tomorrow on the US store and you may want to check it out, some games I recommend for you.

GOD OF WAR PS4 $19.99 £15.79
HORIZON ZERO DAWN COMPLETE EDITION $9.99 £7.89

Personally I think I may pick up most of these as the prices seem a steal!

MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN $19.99 £15.79
DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN $7.99 £6.31
BATTLEFIELD V $23.99 £18.95

Yes, but the US pricing should be far cheaper.

Think i have to wait for 4-5pm today for the US prices to change on the store.

If you're interested in Battlefield V it has just gone onto EA Access for Xbox, so it should be on EA Access when it comes to PS4.

Takes 5 minutes.

1. Register with NEW email
2. Set it up using a US address, i used a holiday home address i had previously stayed at.
3. Setup new account on your PS4 as PRIMARY your UK account will still be PRIMARY also.
4. Purchase USA topup cards from https://www.pcgamesupply.com using your normal UK banking card and UK address, instant email delivery.
5. Add US topcards to US account and purchase the game/download.
6. Play said games via UK account.

It's alot easier than it looks and the prices are astonishingly cheaper at times, when the sales are on.

Excellent choice I think it's one of the best open world games I have played.

A few tips, don't do what I did and try and do the end mission too soon as I ended up being too underpowered with weapons and body armour and had to roll back and do everything all the errands and side missions for that, and it was sure worth it, the DLC is very good too so leave that till the end.

I really enjoyed collecting all the trophies.

I tried Spiderman late last night, still struggling with the control system and fear the game will be far too short unless there is an open world element.

Stephen 08-06-2019 09:05

Re: The PS4 Thread

I'll get to try it tonight. Looking forward to it.

Spiderman is open world, after the first few missions and levelling up your powers it gets a lot better, lots of side missions and tasks to complete. I kept playing and am 92% complete on the main game. I loved collecting all the trophies. My Spidey is now at level 50. Only got a few trophies to go now. The main story is also pretty great and can't wait to get to the 3 DLC chapters.

Thanks for the tips, I think the Deluxe version of Spiderman i bought for $30 comes with all the DLC and i am very glad there is an option to turn off Motion Blur as i can't handle that it makes me feel sick.

On HZD later on in the game when you have access to a place called Meridian, give me a shout and i will tell you how to get 'Shards' quickly to buy stuff, this isn't a cheat but you will want it.

Like i think i said previously i can give you a few tips which i think you will need and it is not cheating at all, so give me a shout when you're a few weeks into the game.

You're basically going to need to get Shards quickly and once you have access to a place called Meridian where all the specialist Merchants are you will need this info to progress easier. :)

I completed the game on Normal level and it is by far 1 of the most satisfying games i have ever played, after i did that i then ventured into the DLC.

Tomb Raider is a very good game but personally l think there are several games that l enjoyed more then Spider-Man but each to their own in their favourite preferences.

EA Access is 9hrs away for all those interested, the current list of games available at launch are below but i suspect this will mostly mirror the games available on the Xbox very soon which have over 50, not bad for £19.99 a year.

A Way Out
Battlefield V
Burnout Paradise Remastered
Fe
FIFA 19
Madden NFL 19
Mass Effect: Andromeda
NBA Live 19
NHL 19
Titanfall 2
The Sims 4
Unravel Two

I loved the service on the X1. It was also great as it had some last gen games included, which was probably due to the BC function of the X1. So this may have less games.

Re: The PS4 Thread

Now live at £19.99 a year or £3.99 a month, these are the current games for the UK region, strangely we don't get Madden games or Rorys Golf, like the US does.

Battlefield V

NBA Live 19
A Way Out
Burnout Paradise Remastered
Fe
Titanfall 2
EA Sports UFC 3
Star Wars: Battlefront II
Need for Speed: Payback
FIFA 18
NBA LIVE 18
NHL 18
Mass Effect Andromeda
NHL 17
FIFA 17
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
EA Sports UFC 2
Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2
Unravel
Star Wars Battlefront
Need for Speed
EA Sports UFC
Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
Peggle 2
Need for Speed Rivals
Battlefield 4
The Sims 4 Console
Battlefield Hardline

Yes that's the thing with all these games i am buying cheap in online sales, at some point they may appear on PS Plus as free games and there is nothing i can do, so far i haven't been caught out yet.

Re: The PS4 Thread

I'm usually ok when I buy sale stuff too. Didn't expect Sniper Elite 4 as ps plus game. Would have expected the remaster of V2 or 3 as they are a bit older. 4 is still pretty pricey.

Also picked up the season pass for Spiderman and working through the 3 story parts on themwill go back to Horizon shortly.

I've not played much of Spiderman, after finishing Tomb Raider I have moved onto assassins creed origins which I picked up on the cheap from either the US or Indonesian store last summer.... too many games to play.

I find I play the PS4 far more often now I use their wireless headset all the time, so much better than any other sound, you should get yourself a pair.

This is what I use but there are newer models.

Im not good with PSVR, cant stand the feeling of motion sickness, hopefully the new consoles wont cause this issue as i cant even play Far Cry very long as you cant turn this issue off.

I've only used it a few times but was fine with it. Was planning on getting one soon. Gutted I missed out on the recent price drops.

More price drops started today on both US and UK sites, you should make checking daily part of your browsing habits.

PS Plus is also on offer if you need a top up, you can get the price down to £31ish using cheap tops from the usual sites.

With regards to getting PSVR, i kind of regret getting mine, it has probably had less than a few days use as the novelty of it all didn't last long.

Playing a game like Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood is a must and is fun at the time if it doesn't give you a heart attack!!! but after that there isn't much else and for me i missed the large 4K picture that a regular TV gave, PSVR also didn't work too well with my varifocal glasses as it blurred the edges so was hard to read any text in focus, maybe i will give it another go sometime but i feel it is just a short term thing and won't get much use.

How come you don't play wireless?

Joking right? lol

What is the real reason you play with a cable attached to the controller, is it so you don't have to charge them?

Trip hazard. ;)

Den i am actually very shocked that you play wired, you can't even charge a PS4 controller via the cable while playing, you maybe able to on the V2 models though so you still have to charge it afterwards after you stop playing.

There is simply no logical reason to have it plugged in other than to make your life difficult, the controllers have all been wireless since the PS3 days for 14 years. :)

I still don't think you will change, if you bought a cordless hoover that could also be used with a wire you would also keep that plugged in. :D

Anyway a little tip, you can charge the controller using any USB port even if its on a PC, or the ones you can buy with a cheap mains extender block, so there is really no reason to trail it across your living room, the cable could stay plugged in near your chair.

My partner hoovers as l would get breathless rather quickly sadly.

l might take you up on your tips though as perhaps this old dog can learn new tricks.:D

I'm pretty sure you can charge while playing? I'm sure I've done it loads before.

What......

The controller's only charge via the cable. They are designed to be used wirelessly, it's Bluetooth they use.

I've wanted it for a while and keep missing out on the price drops. At £180 for the starter kit it's a really good price.

Also I can watch my 3D Blu Rays using it.

Yes it looks like you're correct you can charge while playing.

So for Dens sake, if you have a V1 controller the connection for playing games is only possible via wireless but with a V2 controller you have the choice for either wireless or playing through the cable.

If you do go PSVR, some games require 2 move controllers for best results and these are expensive but you can use the original move controllers if you have them.

Sadly I no longer have my PS3 move controller's. Sold them when I got rid of the PS3 but at the time only got about 5 quid for each one. It's crazy how expensive they are now. I am sure they were only about 40 quid for a pair new back then.

The price shot up when PSVR came out.

Btw make sure you get a V2 PSVR there is an important difference regarding TV breakout box which means you wont have to keep unplugging it I think it maybe to do with HDR.

You are correct. V1 couldn't pass through HDR. It's been a while now so all new stock should be V2. Even when looking at secondhand inches I always check out the breakout box to make sure it's the new one. Same with the headset, as there are a few differences that are easy to spot.

V2 packs come bundled with the camera too.

Some V1 packs did too latterly. They also included VR World's just like V2.

It may have been the camera design on the box that was different then.

I'm not sure I follow? Surely it's the same for V1 and V2?

You can play using a wire with the V2 controller this may reduce lag, with V1 the cable just charges it, I got that from a Google search so I hope it's correct.

You can also play with the wire on a V1 while its charging. I'm sure my red controller is a V1.

Stephen 06-01-2020 10:11

Re: The PS4 Thread

Easiest way to tell the V1 from V2 is the V2 has a light bar section on the top of the touch pad. V1 is just that bit on the back.

Well you can play with both connected via a wire, not sure I can explain it any better than how I have, Google it if you still don't understand.

The only other change is that the new PlayStation 4 controller features USB communication. Unlike the original DS4, it means you’ll be able to play games either wirelessly or via a USB cable.
