The Super HD tag means that the title is available in Super HD. You need to bring up the streaming details to see if you're getting the increased HD quality. The general assumption at the moment is that it should show 'X-High HD' as the streaming quality for Super HD. 'High HD' is the previous highest HD stream.

I don't know if Sky is part of the Netflix CDN or not. There is a link on the page of the previous link I posted, which automatically checks your connection to see if it is part of the Netflix CDN.

Cheers mate , my PS3 lists Super HD , when watching a title listed as Super HD pressing select on the PS 3 controller reports X-High HD my BB is around 9mb if that helps. Via that link I get a green square saying its available.

Or:

141. Channel 4 HD
142. Channel 4 +1
143. 4Seven
144. E4
145. E4 HD
146. E4 +1
147. More4
148. More4 HD (When it comes)
149. More4 +1

With CBS Reality moving to an higher number beside CBS Action and CBS Drama and Horror Channel moving to Channel 445.

That my ideal lineup for the channels listed.

136. SyFy HD
137. E!
138. E! HD (When it comes)

OR:
Move Syfy to go beside Universal Channel with:

135. Comedy Central Extra
136. Comedy Central Extra +1 (When it comes)
137. Pick TV
138. Pick TV +1 (When it comes)

Oh the irony ;)

I have never had any streaming problems since I moved to Sky. Not many Virgin customers can say that unless they don't actually stream, as the streaming problems affecting all customers even hit the media a few months back. I was a virgin customer for numerous years so I am aware of how bad their local network issues are and how often they rear their head, along with how they affect streaming.

So I have an educated view on this compared to yourself who just wants be shouty and make silly claims while contributing no actual argument of any merit.

You've quoted a typical Register (media) non-story i.e. re-hash an old story with nothing but fluff.

The original story is here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/11...uffering_woes/

Where it is admitted by VM, and accepted by your source, that some customers very having problems with some sites due to a problem with one of their peering agreements.

I remember the article you posted from when it first came out as I was surprised at the time as I have not had any issues with streaming or large scale file transfers but digging a little got to the real truth i.e. just some customers and some streaming sites.

I doubt that Zee Cafe will ever make it to VM. The owner once said to a colleague that it is a bonus channel designed to encourage their customers to use Sky to receive their channels as:

- They make more money from customers who receive their channels via the Sky platform.

- They are able to carry this channel on Sky as the associated carriage costs are cheaper than VM.

Zee Cafe is only listed due to that having the same owners as Zing.

Only have to go by the coming soon thread for last year to easily make the assumption that not much is coming soon. No need to be psychic or a rocket scientist ;)

I can confidently predict that VM will give you another price rise before giving you something better than The Africa channel, if that helps

You have only had Sky for a short period of time, so not sure your comments are valid. As Denphone says, he has never had a problem and neither have a number of other posters on this forum. You had a bad experience that doesn't mean that everyone has.

Hopefully you won't have a fault and be subjected to Sky's **** poor response that many Sky customers complain bitterly about particulaly with broadband when you have to wait x days for an openreach engineer to get to your property.

You are an individual that that had a bad experience on VM and there are others like you, however there are similar poor experiences from people with other suppliers. Not sure they go on their previous suppliers forums though and spend their life bad mouthing them. Do you get time to do anything else?

My main poor experience with "Virgin" is postings here that seem to come straight for the ad dept:erm:. Yet for the odd gem I still come here - sad, is it not :dozey: TiVo was I FEEL over hyped in its early days -I know it has died down now - Still like my V+ . App`s was a another coming soon that flopped in my book.
Have had complete control of a Sky+ box for 24 hours. Anything that comes soon to Virgin will in the overall setting for me simply push them further ahead. As for the channels suggested as " coming in " NOT interested in them . ABC ,CBS or NBC on to TV on demand would be good - Not going to happen - but a guy can wish  Wonder if .. not for posting here perhaps. Any TV/PC tec`s out there

A pointed out, there were known national problems so the only way a virgin customer can deny it didn't happen to them is if they were not doing streaming over those many months. So you can repeat that all you want and it doesnt make it true.

Ask anyone in this forum who has moved to sky how they feel sky has dealt with them. Can't fault them in any way. Even if it took x days for an openreach engineer, that is miles better than the 6 months it took with no action at all being taken on an oversubscribed node I was connected too. I can see the graphs of many in my area and they are still experiencing horrendous packetloss. You really have no idea.

Hello my favourite hypocrite. First let me point everyone towards your entire posting history here, which can be found via searching your name. That will show that a majority of your posts are attacking sky and trying to protect virgin. It will also show you go into the Sky related forums to have a dig too. So don't spout that crap unless you can live with the hypocrite tag.

ITV Re brand goes live

ITV has today rolled out its major rebrand across the entire business, including a 'colour-shifting' new logo and refreshed identities for all five of its channels, including ITV1 changing to just 'ITV'.

Unveiled in late 2012, the new "modern, unifying brand identity" has now been introduced across ITV Plc, the ITV Network and all six ITV Studios production offices around the world, along with ITV's online and on-demand products including ITV Player.

From today, ITV1 is now just ITV and the five UK channels - ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV - all have the redesigned ITV logo

The new logos are on my samsung 1TB Tivo.
Old ITV logos are on my 500 Tivo, FOX logo on 157 but FXHD on 158
All old logos still showing on my Cisco 1TB Tivo

Rebooted all three this morning too

Also MTV channels, (apart from Live) still have old logos as does 4Music.

Recently there seems to be a fair few TV channels moving to the less expensive packages. Is anyone else beginning to feel that the XL package is becoming undervalued and/or overpriced? Perhaps VM really have something coming soon that will make us XL customers feel we're getting value for paying top whack for our viewing choice.

Indeed and perhaps they have the intention of adding Sky Atlantic or BT's sports channels to the XL pack maybe in the future as it might seem highly unlikely but alas we can always hope.

When are we going to get this new "On Demand" tv thing that Sky are shouting about just now?

Why are Virgin always years behind Sky when it comes to things like this? I mean, its not exactly rocket science, is it? Everyone knew, years ago, that people might like to be able to watch TV at a time that suited them, but as usual its left down to Sky to lead the way. I think the terrestrial channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5) tinkered with the idea a few years ago, but they obviously gave up on it, as we have heard nothing about it from any of them since. But surely Virgin could have come up with something back then. It would have been a great selling point for their TV service, but obviously they couldn't be bothered. They should take a leaf out of Sky's book, because when they "invent" a new technology, they let everyone know it.

I dont know how long Virgin think they will last in this business if they cant keep up with the competition.

ps.. I wonder if this new "On demand" service from Sky will include, not just all the TV shows that you might want to see, but also the hundreds of TV news segments and interviews, that are vital to any successful "on demand" service.

I agree - last year was very poor, but there seems a little more optimism about the possible imminent channel launches. Besides, this thread seems to thrive on speculation and rumour, even though I sometimes criticise the lack of definitive news about new channels or services.

I was just suggesting a way that would enable you to get more beauty sleep and watch the shows :D
