Milners a utility player, he'll track back and stuff. I'm not sure playing it safe in that way is wise vs France but we'll see if he's negative as you say or puts in a performance

Re: Euro 2012

Perhaps this speech will come in handy even though its not the correct day.:)

Quote:

This day is called the Feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day and comes safe home
Will stand a-tiptoe when this day is named
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall see this day and live t' old age
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours
And say, "Tomorrow is Saint Crispian."
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars
And say, "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words —
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester —
Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered.
This story shall the good man teach his son,
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day.

Pretty low IMO. Not sure we would be pleased if the French came over and projected a French flag on the cenotaph.

England has to get over the notion that to be patriotic we have to go and show disrespect to other nation's cultures. :td:. Shameful.

Not unusual for the sun to change the message depending on what will sell

Most likely, UEFA gave the order, over sponsorship concerns. Remember the last world cup, where people got arrested for planning an 'ambush marketing campaign'?

Russia have been given a suspended six-point deduction by Uefa, following the poor behaviour of their fans at Euro 2012.

They could invoke it, but I suspect that since last nights troubles occurred before the suspended points deduction was handed down, they are not going to invoke it because of that. Let's see what happens during the rest of the tournament.

Holland Squad according to Volkskrant:

Stekelenburg; Van der Wiel, Heitinga, Mathijsen, Willems; Van Bommel, De Jong; Robben, Sneijder, Afellay; Van Persie.

Only difference with the Denmark game is the return of Matthijssen.

I'm surprised Affellay is in there. He'll have to do better than against Denmark.

wow

Should think so too. Inparticular, that massive "This is Russia" banner was unforgivable. Presumably that was something to do with the Russian FA or whatever other authorities had their fingers in the matter. How to incite a riot in Poland. It's a football match, not a platform for political rhetoric, idiots.

Wasn't the 'This is Russia' banner against Poland?

Technically, that would mean it hasn't been judged yet.

It was yes, I see that the original article was the previous issue. I expect that the Polish FA will also get into trouble. Knew it would come to this somehow, any excuse to fight :(
