There are no Heist options, they come as DLC in the next patch for free.

So I've done two things...

First was hold up a store... Didn't go too well. The other player stole all the money and started shooting me! Lol part of the game I guess... I got away, from him and the cops!

Second was that I tried to do a shooting mission at some cypres flats, but cause I was the only one there I was stuck. It was trying to launch the game, but no-one else there meant I couldn't cancel or proceed. I had to turn off xbox and load back up to exit, hmmm!

I got a shiny new car with insurance though lol

!

I had my first hold up go something like that, I was alone standing at the counter intimidating the clerk and someone just appeared next to me and got a shot off.
I turned and shot them in face with my pump action shotgun :D

Nope, still stuck with a vanishing car and infinite loop of loading screens for the next year. I never thought I'd say this but add Rockstar to the list of 'MMO termed online' that's failed at launch, up their with WoW and probably every other Blizzard game at launch :D

At the moment, I'm bleeding in every possible way... higher rated players keep running me over! and then stealing my money. After 2 street races (1v1) I thought I'd do a mugging (as you do) and found at the moment of robbin' I had no bullets left.

Put your money in the bank. Go to your phone > internet > money > Maze Bank.

You'll be able to deposit all your money there. You hardly ever need money on you.

I did, I had something like 5k cash and deposited into the bank, leaving only 500 on me. I still lost it. I'll check my bank statement and see where/how it went...

I didn't do it that way, that would have been easier. Instead I quick GPS'd it to an ATM.

Never been able to even scratch the surface yet.

Rob posted earlier with BBC link about the demand and possibility Rockstar may completely fail here. As the days go on it's looking ever more likely we're witnessing a gaming disaster. This is how quick you can go from everything to nothing. Single player is unmatched but this online saga could affect the entire product in whole and be the talking point every time GTA V comes up.

Trouble is, I don't think Rockstar were expecting the game to be so popular in the first few weeks after launch. If you remember, they were talking about £1 billion in sales in first year. They smashed that target in the first week!

Saying that, a lot of people will not be interested in using the Online side of it. In GTA IV, I personally didn't use the online side of it because at the time my internet speed was so slow that by the time I had aimed at someone they had killed me! Might give it a go now with Virgin BB.

ok, having spent an hour or so on GTAO this morning, it seems you have to pay money out of the bank for 'health and bail' costs (checking my bank transaction log revealed this).

So each time i was killed I had to pay between 500-750 dollars per death (or life, depends if you're a half or full cup person).

I've yet to be arrested but I'm guessing you'd have to pay a similar amount for bail too.

How it differs between 500-750 probably is dependant on how you died. I got run over and that was towards the lower amount, always different amounts though. I fell to my death a few times trying to scale (and succeeded) Mount Josiah, these cost the upper amounts around 750.

As a Brit, I'm not used to paying for health care, thank goodness for NHS! and let's hope the USA-based script writers for future games also benefit from Obamacare so that we don't have to waste 500-750 dollars per life in GTA 6.

It probably depends on how much total cash you have in the bank, just like it does in single player.
Every other GTA game has taken money for healthcare or bail, it's a penalty for dieing or getting caught.
I think getting arrested also takes your weapons away

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Getting arrested just takes away your ammo. I'm not sure if there's any cash taken or not.

I tried GTAO for the first time tonight... Went through that crappy character creation screen, then the intro cutscene with Lamar, then went to start the first race...and waited... and waited... and waited... And gave up. Tried again... "The Rockstar cloud servers are currently down..."

Rockstar is issuing another patch, for both platforms, hopefully as soon as tomorrow:

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswir...h-updates.html

I wonder what it will do... Maybe remove the need to do the tutorial and allow you to jump straight in?

Had a similar experience to Matt D last night.

First time trying to log on to Online since it was released.

Created my character (annoyingly the third time I have done this, also only once did it recognise the link between my PSN and the R* Social Club) and got dumped straight into a free roam lobby, floating down just behind the Vinewood sign. Nicked a car, tried to do a job or find where this first race thing was and nothing. Deposited my cash at an ATM and then got shot up by someone on a freeway. Tried to rob a petrol station, and that failed. Then everyone left, so I decided to join another lobby and then it kicked into the Lamar cutscene.

However I was able to go to the blue dot to start the race, but then it just hung waiting for other racers. About 5 minutes went by and nothing so I had to quit out completely.

I can see there is huge potential there, but they need to do a lot of work to get it stable, let alone running smoothly for all customers

The rest of the world also has this same issue. If you try at a certain time, you'll get in, for me it was around 10-11pm and once you've passed the tutorial you're in for good.

PS3 patch is out. 360 patch to follow today:

UPDATE 7: Rockstar has said the GTA Online patch is live for PS3. It's working to have it released for Xbox 360 "as soon as possible today".

Cheapest two car garage is only ~$26,000

Edit: Oh, and you can sell cars you steal at an LS Customs once a day, most I've got from a sale is $8,000 from some convertable.
They don't want to buy the high end vehicles though, I tried :(

SUV's can sell for $9000.

A garage beside LS Customs sells for $25,000

Simeon gives a mission out called Richman Mansion I believe in which you steal a Daytona replica and a Rolls Royce, with 2 players earning 5k a pop in which it's replayable.

Probably another tip that's been said, don't waste time running for ATM's, use your phone and use Maize bank in the money tab for deposits.

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Update: I play with another member of my crew, a RL friend. We've amassed about $300k between us, he's purchased a house with a 6 car garage and I've got 4 different garages. Got about $60k left.

Tips: Paying $100 to not be shot at is useless, don't bother, they'll run you over anyway.

Memorise the City as most simeon missions are located there and you are instantly pursued by police usually at a 3* level, you want to know where the nearest multi-storey car park is and gun it.

You'll get a 30% XP bonus if you do missions as a crew.

The Range Rover is the car that sells for $9000 at LS customs. You can sell a vehicle every 24 hours in game.

Helicopters frequently spawn at the Helipad location that can be found in the single player. Just off the beach.

Auto-Aim makes all shooting combat hopeless so unless you're bounty hunting try not to engage players otherwise you'll just be killing him, being killed by him and so on, there's little to no skill involved.

As I've said above, the Elegy RH8 is free in game when you've purchased a garage and linked your gamertag or PSN ID to your Rockstar Social Club. (Nissan GTR replica)

After level 10, You can have a bounty placed on your head by NPC's for randomly stealing cars. If you're in a crew, have your mate shoot you and half the pot. Dirty but a quick and effective way to make a quick $.

Will post more later.

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Details on the latest update:

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswir...-and-more.html

Quote:

This title update addresses a number of issues that GTA Online players have been experiencing in the initial days of launch this week, including:

Fix to address the issue where players were stuck launching a session before the Mall or Nothing race in the online tutorial.
Fix to address an issue where bank & cash were deleted incorrectly in some cases.
Fix to address incorrect amounts of cash being dropped when the player dies in Missions and Last Team Standing.
Fixes an issue where the Character Switch Wheel would disappear after a failed load.
Fixes an issue where attempting to enter GTA Online via the Character Switch Wheel caused a black screen.
Fixes an issue where temporary characters were overwriting main characters.
Fixes an issue where players were losing apartments and the money they spent on them.
Fixes an issue that caused Story Mode missions to be missed in some instances.
Removes the autosave that occurred when transitioning into GTA Online from within GTAV Story Mode to prevent the chance of Story Mode saves becoming corrupted.
Several tweaks to GTA Online including improving overall stability.

I noticed two things last night while playing Story Mode with the previous update:

- When trying to save the game at Trevor's 3rd safehouse, he would turn invisible when lying down, the save list then failed to open, and the game then froze.

- Since update 1, the Mission Checklist on the phone has been replaced with a Job list.

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

After a few more attempts, I finally managed not only to start the online tutorial but also to get past it and into GTA O proper.

Been on it for a few hours, robbing stores and doing TDMs. Done a few missions for the NPC contacts. It's pretty good, once it works. I can definitely see it being far, far better with Friends, so you can do Jobs together.

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

It's a foundation build to be fair but a very good one! You'll find a lot of the team missions are rinse and repeat but the game has great potential with future DLC and Updates.

Also remember my posting above for simple FAQs and remember you get more XP with friends and crews doing missions.

Holding the back button is your inventory and online configuration.

Awesome post! At the mo, I've got about 20k and thats about it! lol I was quite impressed with myself doing the Meth run job to pickup a shotgun...that's about as impressed I've been with my progress so far lol.

Hopefully doing the above will help me make some bread asap!

So why do you need a garage, seems expensive so what do you get in return?, just that nissan car or what?

The high end cars can only be kept with a garage. They can't be stolen off the street and insured. With a garage you also get a mechanic at the cost of $50 a day and he'll maintain your cars and deliver them directly to you with a quick call. Cars you legitimately purchase are automatically insured and tracked.

Quick tip for annoying star wanted levels when you want to do something else. Simply drive into any LS customs when not in view of police to lose any star wanted level. Chopper seeing you does not affect this. This made it easy to rob shops close to LS customs.

Second bit of info for today is. You lose $2000 for every death in a mission. Steep but crucial to avoid this to build your money.

Tezcatlipoca 06-10-2013 15:25

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Also:

Always bank your money! You lose a % of your cash when you die or get arrested, so make sure you always deposit it ASAP. Use the bank link on your phone's internet rather than an actual ATM, to avoid being mugged.

Buy a mask or other disguise. If you wear a mask/disguise when you commit a crime and get a wanted level, you can lose a star by removing the mask/disguise when the wanted stars are flashing. Handy if you like to rob gas stations.

The cops are much more aware and aggressive in Online than in Story Mode. In Story Mode, you can happily steal a car and never respray it... but in GTA Online, if a cop car sees you driving a stolen car that has not been resprayed they *will* come after you and it will quickly escalate...

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

I'm making an intro guide to GTA online that will map all my mission routes and how to earn money via missions at a decent pace. Should be done Tuesday if I don't have work. I'd happily fill up the other two spots for 4 player missions for anyone struggling or after making quick money. We usually run the Richman Mansion Simeon mission which involves stealing two parked cars for $5000 and involves losing the cops. Again I've mastered the mission to the point of losing cops in the first minute and completing the mission in under 5 minutes at a good pace. At said pace we usually bring in 50k every 1-2 hours given breaks and intermission. I'm well aware of a glitch that can make you over 100k in an hour with little work. Not interested in ruining the game.

I'm on T7 Genera7ion on XBL. I'm usually on when off work.

Edit: I appear to have posted a thumbs down! I have no idea how as I'm using my Galaxy atm. If anyone wants to edit it away feel free! It looks like I've TD Matt for no good reason heh.

Boring I know, but it works. If you stay there for the in-game day then you get that bounty

Everything seems to be working hunky-dory now. I managed to play for a couple of hours last night and complete the tutorial mission and a few jobs with my mate. I was expecting a load of griefing but that wasn't the case. Playing at 2-4 am obviously has it's advantages.

Presumably you have to unlock the right to buy property because I haven't managed to find anywhere to buy yet.

I've found your character only shows up in the wheel if you've already been on GTA: online in that session

Earlier you character was just a silhouette on your social club profile. It's showing up now though

I've still got my character, whilst that is cold comfort to most there are warning messages all over GTA:O stating that if you can't log into GTA:O then go back to the Story mission and try again. Under no circumstances press retry or create a new character.

Also when you want to leave GTA:O make sure you exit back to the story mission as this will save your online progress.
Last time I was on there it timed out shortly after I bought my first garage, on the Social Club it is still showing me as skint, so I am hoping that everything has saved as it should.

Ha! stimulus package

Rockstar will give GTA Online players half a million in-game dollars to make up for the game's troubled launch.

That's pretty cool for those who have held off playing online too much in case their character disappears so this will provide a much needed bit of catch-up.

Don't get the $400k appartment. Save yourself $9,000 and get apt 40 - Eclipse Towers. It has a much better view......

http://gtaforums.com/topic/617422-list-of-apartments/

Apart from having to create 4 - 5 characters before I was able to progress through the tutorials I have been unaffected by the cloud servers and all the online problems.

However $500k is most welcome seeing as I am struggling to make any money.
I've got about $30k in the bank and the $31k 2 car garage, and still rocking my Futo, which annoyingly wasn't the car that I got the free Simeon mods for.

TBH, I would go for an apartment that costs about 200k and then buy a car, bike and some weapons.

I'm lucky if I grind $35,000 a session , currently sitting on ~$138,000 and a $36,000 garage.
Robbing stores, selling cars and doing a few missions and grabbing one or two of those cars Simeon wants when you're in free roam

It's the tools who all they want to do is shoot anyone else they see, and/or camp out LS Customs to gun anyone down that cost me money in medical bills

About to post a test capture, I've been having problems with GTA V and 1080 being choppy as hell so about to do a 720 record.

---------- Post added at 13:24 ---------- Previous post was at 11:49 ----------

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkOvc96rOHs

This is what came out, mission is 'Where credit's due' from Simeon, quick and simple way of completing it. Annoyed I'm only seeing an option of 480p when I uploaded a 720p file over 800mb in size. I'm going to sort out my editing software later and see if I can get this right.

Edit: 720p appeared. I really want to get it to 1080 though but Rockstar may have to patch the game for that. Is it choppy for anyone else at 1080?

cimt 12-10-2013 14:25

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

It can take awhile for 720p to become available. Give it a few hours and you should see it as an option.

EDIT; I've just looked and I can pick 720p.

Managed to have a bigger session on it, and I can pick up similar amounts of cash, I find that selling one of the higher spec cars for ~$9000 every other game day is really helpful for grinding cash.

The tools that lurk around sniping you is really annoying. I try and stay out of their way, but if they are threatening then I'll shoot first as a deterrent, and then get the hell out of that area.

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

I'm getting a bot annoyed with NPCs putting bounties on my head.

I had one last night for stealing a car, only $1000, but I was mobbed. I then had another one put on my head straight after when I had to steal another car to get out of the area.

So I switched straight to a solo only server to continue my game. Then this morning in a solo server (still with yesterdays bounty on my head) I had another bounty placed on my head, this time after I killed the owner of the vehicle I had stolen.

Other than that I am still loving the game, steadily going through the game, I am rank 17 with $109,000 in the bank. I need to make another $31,000 before the first stimulus package arrives so I can get the $391,000 apartment. The rest of the stimulus will probably go on modding my Futo and a new car.

v0id 17-10-2013 13:55

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

I don't worry about bounties now, I just phone Martin until I get the mission where you have to kill the lawyer to steal the evidence.

The mission itself is worth $9000 and takes minutes, a bit longer if you take the lawyers car before you get the evidence and return it to your garage ..that car's worth $22,000 when you sell it

Dr Gonzo 17-10-2013 17:00

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

I don't think I've had any missions from Martin yet? I've got Lamar, Gerald, Simeon, Ron calling me. Also I can get weapons drops from Merryweather, and Lester can put a bounty on me and also lower my wanted level (I think)
Spoiler:
also just had a call from the legend Brucie Kibutz about Bullshark, I loved that guy in IV
but that's about it.

Briefly played with v0id last night, bit of LTS.

Played for a while with randoms. I have had excellent games with randoms previously, but last night was terrible. Someone blew up my car, then kept going after me every time I re-spawned. Ended up with another group after doing a mission, only for them to be similar and spend their freeroam time hunting other players.

I think you were just unlucky. Fortunately though, if someone destroys your personal vehicle then they pay for it. You just have to call the insurance. You up for some games tonight? I'm gunna be playing Halo soon but I'll be on GTA later.

Yeah, I did notice that when I called the insurance - it said that the other player had to pay the premium.

I will definitely be online later, but I'm not sure when yet. Probably not until 10pm, at least...

v0id 19-10-2013 18:39

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Yeah, it was a good game, I don't really much care for death match or team death matches and couldn't figure out how to switch to the same team you were on :/

At least it doesn't cost $2000 a time when you get killed now, but when there's lobbys like that I usually just switch to a new session.

If I've got a bounty on my head, then I expect it, hell if it's only a $1000 bounty I'll drive up to people, get out of my car and stand there.
I did that last night, and it took AGES for someone to kill me. I even went into a store that was being robbed and stood in front of two guys, nothing. I went around the counter, punched the clerk and took all the cash out of the till, still they wouldn't kill me.

I've also found a way around selling one car a game day. sell one car and bank the cash, switch to a second character and bank the cash

The earlier mission from Martin I mentioned 'Out of Court Settlement' has now halved to only $4500 after the patch, but the lawyers car is still worth $22,000 :D

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Personally I am finding races are a great way to rack up RP & cash. Was doing a 2 lap race around the docks over the weekend and the winner would get around $10,000 and over 2,000 RP. Second was $6k and 1k RP ish. Thankfully I was playing with some players who liked smashing into players, so if you got out in front of them you were fine.

Also I got the 1.04 patch on Friday, but no bloody cash from R*!

It's not a problem as I doubled my cash over the weekend thanks to races and survival games so now I only need $90,000 before I can get my first penthouse (I'm aiming for the $391,000 apartment.)

v0id 22-10-2013 15:02

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Yeah, races are definitely the best way to rack up RP, but after a few I find them so boring. I prefer to do a few missions and survival.

Regarding apartments, they're all the bloody same inside.
I've got the $223,000 one at 3 Atla St and the $373,000 in Eclipse Towers in Rockford Hills and I prefer the cheaper one.
The garage there is much easier to get into, I think the Eclipse Towers garage entrance blue circle must be glitched or something as it takes me two or three trys to actually get in there. Trying to get into there at speed? Forget about it.

There is talk about the stimulus package going in sometime this week on GTA Forums.

As for cars, I like the
Obey 9F convertible (looks like the Audi R8)
Karin Futo (based on the Toyota Corolla AE86, old school Jap Tuner)
Vapid Dominator
Karin Sultan (only because you can mod that to become the Sultan RS
Ubermacht Sentinal XS
BF Injection
Sandking SWB or XL, both are fun to do a bit of off-roading.

I honestly haven't played about with many of the super cars. I stored them all in the three characters garages in single player, but since online I haven't played that. And I can't afford anything nice just yet in online. Although the most popular sports/super car I see is the 9F. I think it has a nice balance about it stock.

The police are heavy handed, but 1 & 2 stars are easy to evade. I like the way that if you stay in a stolen car (online) then the police will be after you everytime you pass them unless you respray it.

3 stars and the helicopter can be a nightmare to get rid of. I tend to hide under freeway bridges once I am out of sight.

Bit the bullet last night and decided that I would buy Richards Majestic Apartment 51. I almost had the $391,000 for the apartment I thought I wanted, but then I thought I only want a 10 car garage and a heist planning area, so really it was just location. RM51 is close to LS Customs as well.

The GTA$ Stimulus Package has been delayed.

The first half of the money was initially intended to be distributed last week, after the last Title Update.

But... some people are *still* suffering from loss of $ / RP / rank, and so there is now going to be *another* Title Update sometime next week before the money gets dished out.
