As I understand it, VM TV subscribers on XL will get programmes from those channels that VM has access to but (sadly) not exclusive channels such as Sky Atlantic. Subscribers to the full Sky Movies package will get access to all the films on demand. If I'm mistaken perhaps a VM staffer can correct me.

Still a great deal though , don't forget in the future when VM add Atlantic they could sign a deal for the OD content to be added to Sky Anytime.

They'll bloody well need to, we'll have a hell of a lot of catching up to do - they're already starting season 2 of Sky Atlantic dramas, god knows what season of Boardwalk and Game of Thones they'll be on by the time VM ever get the channel.

They would need the press releases to be released about 3 months before then? Then the would still get bombarded as to when it was coming?

I am surprised that there aren't more posts about this. What good news, to have so much on demand material added overnight. I will look forward to going through the content of this later tonight, but I think Virgin Media and, yes, Sky, are to be congratulated on adding this brilliant content to our on demand system. It certainly needed a refresh!:)

Don't think people quite realise how much we will be getting. The content that has already been loaded is only a small tip of the iceberg.

youre 100% right. i was supposed to get tivo installed today, took a day off work and everything. didnt get a call to confirm so rang up cs, ends up the install was booked for the 19th even though i wrote down during the call "12th oct 8-1, works well as sean's (my brother) birthday." i even rang back the next day to enquire on the cost of a 2nd box and they said "we can install on the 12th if you like with your other tivo". am i peeved off? hell yeah. am i gonna make a big song and dance of how virgin treats their customers like crap? hell no, why should i when the next week while im waiting ive got anytiime and their movies to pass the time :)

What can we expect to see on launch day?

The Sky Anytime service will grow quite rapidly in the first month, with around 70 hours representing most of the channels on day one, and then dozens of hours being added each and every day until it reaches full volume late in October.

How many hours of programs will there eventually be?

By the end of October there will be several hundred hours of TV shows and movies available to watch instantly, a selection that will be refreshed with fresh programs every week.

There should be US series on there as well. Sky have been buying all their shows with on demand rights just to keep Virgin Media viewers unable to view these programmes in the past. So I don't think there should be a problem here.

Why wouldn't they considering they have their own On Demand service.

5 months would be a longtime however maybe not too unrealistic.

When SKY Premiers a movie, don't they then have the exclusive UK broadcast rights for that movie for another 10 months? It could very well be the case that when a new film premiers, it'll stay in the on demand section for the next 10 months, or until SKY's exclusive deal runs out. So tomorrows Despicable Me should be available on demand until July 2012.

I'm probably wrong but that's my feelings on the matter.

Yes it is the date that they are on till. As if you see the pic that I posted on the other page. As it says that Adam is available till 23.59 on the 14/10.
Hope this helps you.
