No mention of Mid-March as far as I can see?

I've already given clues to the launch earlier in the thread ;)

Then I stand corrected on Mid-March... must have gotten confused with what I read in forums and the info on the website.

However no mention of Spanish Football concerns me as does late Spring as a launch? That could read to me Late May/early June and the football season is over and I've been waiting for this since summer to launch when press release first came out.

Before Easter you should have red button ;)

the late spring is for phase 2 of the launch when more content is added to it. :)

Thanks for that so then I should take it that Spanish Football is planned for Red button either this season or in a later phase or not?

During a live English Premier League match there are options on commentary, stats and the likes. For me this option isn't that compelling but....

On Saturdays (if there has been a EPL round of games) at 10.15 a mosaic is available and you can watch the full 90 minutes of all the days games. You also get this sometimes if there was a round of midweek games too.

Similarly during the group stages of the UCL a mosaic is available but that is to choose a live games which otherwise are not all available on the main channels.

This weekend red button was available for Golf, three tournaments were available to watch live which again were not all available on the main channels.

There are loads more options but that is just a taste of what is available.

It will be a great addition, well worth the wait and it will add real value to a sports subscription.

One thing to add on the CL games - goal alert.

When a goal goes in (if you are watching one of the red button feeds) in a game other than the one you are watching, a flash appears at the bottom and you can switch to see a replay of the goal.

More of a caveat than a force majeure, imho - force majeure is usually for circumstances beyond one's control, such as Act of God (including tempest, fire, or natural disaster); War, civil war, sabotage or act of terrorism; Government sanction, embargo, import or export regulation or order.

If any of those happened, I probably wouldn't be too bothered about the red button....;)

Just a quick question as I have not seen it mentioned, nor can find it on search. Does anyone know if S4C will get the red button facility (currently available on Freeview and Sky) for english commentary on televised rugby games? It annoys me everytime when I am told the English commentary option is available on the red button for Sky and freeview owners only.

We know we're getting it in Sping... that lasts until end of May....still plenty of time.

The good people of this thread let us know what THEY have been told. They don't sit at home and make it up for crying out loud. Stop moaning at those who try and give us the inside gossip, rumour and knowledge. Without them there would be no point to this and other threads.

That's not very nice mate, people post on here post things they hear as rumours and if it doesn't work out it's their fault somehow? We all know your talking about MB and I for one think you should apologise, he goes out of his way to keep us up to date on what's rumoured to be happening at VM.

If you want hard facts go read the VM press release page.

On Sky when it goes to choosing your match the streams are currently only SD.

Although I do believe Mersey70 had said Sky were looking at HD feeds for next season.

I think it has been said match choice was part of the deal for Red Button but when that wil appear is anybodys guess without confirmation by VM, which of course has officially so far not been very forthcoming on the subject.:(

The red button on Sky Sports is an interactive service. It will only appear when content is available during live events (match choice etc).

The BBC News Multiscreen is only the same as what it is on Sky. You can't really go stating that it's gonna be all pixellated etc. when nobody has seen it yet. VM will most likely be taking the feed from satellite so will be getting exactly the same picture quality as someone on Sky. All will be revealed on the 28th.

All i can think of is the stats for that match on sky sports 2.

Doesn't mention interactive on schedule here

Re: sky sports red button

This was what VM have said

We’re giving you more control with Sky Sports red button.

Soon it will be even easier to catch your team on telly, thanks to the Sky Sports red button.

If they’re not showing on the main channel, all you need to do is press the red button on your remote control, and Bob’s your uncle, you can scroll through all the games and select your side. It’ll work for all 2011-2012 Barclays Premier League matches, plus any UEFA Champions League match, ATP tennis, US Open, Heineken Cup and more. Plus, your clever red button unlocks loads of news and stats, too. And an extra bonus, from late spring you can use it to track down smaller sports events, games or highlights, too. Just keep an eye out for the red button appearing on your Sky Sports premium channels. Nice one!

Yes match choice is available matt even though Red Button has apprently been launched without a vm press release.! Match choice is not on saturday instead vm have announced a cricket match that is on sky sports 2 anyway to be the first event on red button on 28th april ,make of that what you will.

The red button facility will be a nice addition regardless of what content is offered. I've managed to get by as a Telewest / Virgin customer without the facility so far and I'll continue to get by if what we do get is a watered down version.

Whatever we do get, it'll be purely dictated by SKY. We'll get what SKY want us to get. I'm sure Virgin have done what they can to deliver the best service possible.

Get a grip and go to SKY if you can ( as I know that some are unable to get it ). I can live without it and sport has been my younger years due to athletics and other sports?

It could be a good choice as until then all we may have is a interesting end to PL season and they may need to show the top and the bottom of the table:confused::confused:

Other sports may be the same to other people but this is my choice:)

Please understand how words and sentences are put together and you may actually be able to read the post correctly ( if this is not clear i may have to lower my expectations of how people read things ):p:

Like saying Sky Arts HD is "launching" today, but won't actually show any programmes until next week. Very strange.

Are the extra video streams still testing in some areas?
