Sounds like a great box that may well leave Tivo looking very outdated.

So let's see... Multiroom streaming. Suggestions. Will "blur the lines between live broadcast, recorded content, and on-demand over the internet"

Sounds strangely familiar. ;)

I suspect if true many Sky customers will be more interested in four tuners , ability to beam recordings to tablets , slick interface and some will also like the 4K ability.

I'm a big fan of Tivo. and agree with you... but; multiroom streaming... well, kind of mess. The main channels that would have made it a good USP, just aren't there. Whether that is purely licensing, or VM not prepared to pay an extra cost to obtain the licensing, who knows?

It sounds as if Sky may have covered that aspect, though only time will tell.

Sky has also renegotiated its rights deals with broadcasters to allow it to “side-load” programmes from the SkyQ box onto mobile devices
.

And, until Sky boxes get Whishlist functionality, they've lost at the get-go for me.

I wonder if the new Sky boxes will be as slow as the Tivo box though? I prefer watching my tv in the bedroom on the V HD box but occasionally I watch some stuff in the living room and it`s then I see the slowness most on Tivo. Any idea anyone why it should be this way?

Looks like La Liga TV rights are being sold by two organisations, though not to say that Sky and BT could not buy them all.

1. Four clubs (Barcelona, Celta Vigo, Espanyol and Real Sociedad) recently agreed Spanish TV deals with Telefonica. International TV rights for their home matches will also be sold by Telefonica.
2. The remaining 38 clubs from the top two divisions in Spain including Real Madrid will have their international rights sold by long-standing partner Mediapro which ironically is based in Barcelona.

BT Launch their New Sport Extra Channels
BT Sport X1-X7 on 450-456 and X1HD-X7HD on 465-471 respectively
