I notice on BBC 2 HD from a week on Sunday it says Channel No Longer Available
Maybe a technical change or something.

No need. Baby TV is already on 703, which is the 3 highest EPG number in the Children's section. The next Disney-owned service, XD, is at 707.

BBC2 HD here in England is fine - maybe the are switching something over as you may still get the listings for BBC2 Scotland (even though it doesn't exist anymore).

Possibly as I noticed with the recent EPG logo change it actually says BBC2 Scotland HD which doesn't (and never) exists

BBC Four channel likely to be axed by the corporation.

BBC Four is facing the axe as the cash-strapped corporation prepares to cut costs by closing the channel.

Executives are preparing to shutter the channel and divert some of its budget to BBC Three, its key focus for winning over 16 to 34-year-olds, the Telegraph reported.

cannot for the life of me understand why they gutted the youngster channel and kept bbc 4 when all their shows could have been aired on bbc2 in theory.

Part of me cynically thinks since 2010 a lot of conservative members have been put on the bbc board....and yet in my eyes the bbc news department has been rather pro tory especially with laura kussenberg. But then again a lot of people on social media say its biased to labour which ive never thought in the slightest but hey ho its the social media world ripping the world apart with "he said, she said" interpretations and to be brutally honest i can't be bothered anymore ...

i think either way a public broadcaster dying is a bad thing but neither do i agree with how its been run. the danger is letting the fox in the pen though and now we will have money men running all the channels portraying what they want to be known ala fox news.

which btw never launched on virgin media sadly for the comedy value

Given from what l have read and that BBC 2 is full of repeats l suspect quite a lot of the content will end up on there and on BBC 3.

Personally l enjoy some of the BBC 4 content myself.

Thats a question that can only be answered by them Vince as personally l would have not got rid of the youth channel.

Lets not get into the politics of it as there are enough threads on this forum on politics methinks.;)

Well hopefully the BBC will never become the UK equivalent of Fox News Vince as l still think they do a good job given the circumstances.

With 'polls' like the below Den, let's hope the BBC don't become like Fox.

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2020)

Channel Update slates (currently hidden) have now been assigned to channels 278 - 284 and 298 so an indication that the block of lifestyle channels may shortly be on the move.

I assume this is because VM need to make room for 4 new channels at the end of the Documentaries section (Sky Documentaries HD, Sky Documentaries, Sky Nature HD and Sky Nature).

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2020)

There's gaps in the Factual channel numbering at 248-249, 253-255 and 262-264. Assuming the new Sky channels take up 4 (2 HD, 2 SD) and the existing channels don't want jumped over, I can see a reorganising of this and a knock-on reorganisation of Lifestyle after. Though the slates for Lifestyle appearing first seems odd if it was that.

Another possibility is Lifestyle may be merged into General Entertainment numbering or moved closer as the 231-244 range is empty.

If all the existing channels in the Documentaries section were also set to move as you suggest, then I think slates would have been set up for them too. Its more likely that the 4 new Sky channels will just be added to the end of the section, in line with the EPG listing policy.

That was what I was getting at in the last sentence of that paragraph. :)

The 'updated' May versions of the Channel Guide PDFs have been published, and as none of the mistakes have been corrected, I think the only change they have made is the month!

Desktop:

Mobile:

It's got the wrong channel number for Prime Video. It's on 205, not 228.

Sony Crime Channel on 193 is missing.

Comedy Central HD and MTV HD are now included in Mix and Fun, so should have a tick in columns 2 and 3.

Discovery HD and Animal Planet HD are now included in Fun, so should have a tick in column 3.

Nat Geo WILD is no longer on 264, only the HD version exists on 265.
