Exactly; you can pretty much always get 3 month passes for £15, making it a maximum of £5/pm. But deals such as the above come along quite often.

Any more news if we are getting spike,5 star+1,AMC,?

AMC may not survive the year so doubt that will launch.
5 star+1 we think will replace 5+24 this year.
no news on spike yet though.

As a channel itself or just on BT? I assume BT signed a multi-year deal?

I'm off to google this rumour now to see what i can find out.

Just going by dspy posts that the ratings aren't very good the top show apparantly had only 7000 viewers. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...7&postcount=84

but as john said chances are they prob signed a multi year deal.

I did find an article on BARB figures that said no-one watched it on a few days, but then seeing as they only survey about 3,500 homes i wouldn't pay any attention to it whatsoever.

Sorry 5,100 homes in the article, then they 'guess' how many this translates into.

This is an interesting article re AMC

http://qz.com/407863/the-future-of-a...-more-zombies/

One of the problems BT have is that when they did a deal with AMC, many of AMC's current shows, already had UK broadcasters.

This is from the end of the article, with current UK broadcasters added in red

This is what AMC’s lineup will probably look like next year (2016)
  • The Walking Dead Fox
  • Fear the Walking Dead
  • Humans
  • Into the Badlands Amazon Prime
  • Preacher
  • Turn Amazon Prime
  • Halt and Catch Fire Amazon Prime
  • Better Call Saul Netflix

BT may have to wait a few years for when completely new shows are filling AMC's schedules, which I assume BT will have first run UK rights to.
BT may be happy to do this because, like HBO did for Sky, one of BT's reasons for doing the deal with AMC, is that it gives the impression of perceived quality branded content being available on their network.

AMC's viewing figures would improve overnight if BT and AMC agreed to extend a wholesale deal to Virgin Media. :erm::D

I think Channel 4 have the uk rights to humans.
BT are already losing FOX at the end of this month which could be a big blow for them tv wise, unless BT have something lined up maybe TCM or something similar might keep a few happy.

Which makes it even worse for AMC shows available to BT.

But with so few current AMC shows available via BT, there is no reason at all for VM to spend money on an AMC deal with BT.

Aye, that was the joke

I doubt that they would have bothered or thought to do this without the BBC3/CBBC changes.

what truly bizarre comment to make

No more bizarre than you complaining that there had been no new channel additions on VM as soon as we entered 2016.
