is there a chance that could happen mb,Whilst it is nice to see these new additions this week. Its still a long way off justifying the hefty price increase in feb and with channels moving to lower tiers its more so,really was hoping for itv hd channels, universal hd and maybe disney cinematic hd myself and of course the sky ones.
Is it possible to find out from your insiders when we are going to get some more streaming channels for ipad and tivo to tivo mb,Would appreciate any info. The current line up is a total disgrace,Was hoping whilst bringing new channels they would have sorted some more for us aswell

No new channels are set to launch by the end of January.

My insider has still to confirm if anything will happen next month.

Nothing is plan to happen next week.

I'm in two minds. Part of me thinks that the current xl package is being devalued by channel movements and may be further undermined by whatever happens with ESPN and Bt sports, meaning that things must be coming soon to put this right. The other part of me thinks that Bt vision is basically freeview, plus a few channels and an on demand library, and that Virgin hope to compete against that by beefing up their m+ offering but they might not have considered the implications for customers already on the higher tiers. We'll see, certainly be interesting.

Sky Atlantic/HD and Netflix subscription package would do it for me!

Isn't it only HD channels that seem to show 4:3 content in it's original aspect ratio?

Many still do and there's a very noticeable difference between those correctly switching to 4:3 and those with stretch-vision. TCM2 appears to be using 4:3 in a 4:3 frame but with the widescreen flag set on. This gives the impression that the High Chaparral ranch is occupied by several overweight leprechauns with American accents.

-Absolute Radio becoming Planet Rock (AM 1215) on Virgin Channel 915.
-Planet Rock becoming Kerrang Radio on Virgin Channel 924.
-Absolute 80s becoming Heat Radio on Virgin Channel 951.
-Absolute Classic Rock becoming Smash Hits Radio on Virgin Channel 952.

Probably jumping the gun a little there MB but I wouldn't be too surprised at Bauer merging Absolute Radio and Planet Rock under the Planet Rock name if their bid is successful. It would also make sense to then use the Planet Rock network to broadcast Kerrang nationally. As for the other Absolute brands, Classic Rock and 60's, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s brands, they don't really match up with existing Bauer brands (and many aren't actually carried on VM). It's difficult to predict what Bauer would do with these.

VM doesn't have a good track record for carrying the Bauer Radio brands. Many originally carried by NTL were dropped after the merger with Telewest.

I must admit, I was not much of a fan of him and Baddiel, but I think his Saturday show is excellent (Alas I can only listen to it live every other weekend due to work). I have found, over the the years that, Alan Cochrane is incredibly under-rated as a comidian and brings lots to show too, as does Emily Dean. Having said that, the speed and witiness of Frank Skinner's replies to their random thoughts really shows he is on another comedic level to his co-hosts. Surely any new owners would keep him on:erm:

Maybe, if Netflix is coming (still a question mark over that), it has been delayed because of the improoved version of the app. I know this was May last year, but it presumably has to be tweaked for the VM Tivo, and may even be added with the HD screens update?

http://www.techofthehub.com/2012/05/...on-review.html

TBH, I don't think it's worth hanging around for Tivo if you really want Netflix, as there are several streamers in the £60-80 price range that will do Netflix at 1080p resolution and DD 5.1 audio. Those streamers also have the advantage of being able to be used with services such as Unblockus, which I suspect will be impossible with Netflix on Tivo.

Amazing! We both share the exact same views on Frank and his co-hosts. It would be a crime to break-up the team.

I pay less for sky than I did for virgin so what you say is not true about "sky high prices"

Result!

Would your current Sky price be part of an introductory half-price deal?
