By the way, here's an appeal to all BNP supporters/anti-Muslimists/racists/send-'em-back-to-where-they-came-from types, please can you learn punctuation and where necessary, spelling too.

Anyway back to the point in hand - wearing a balaclava at an airport will get you shot? Is that what you're saying?

OK then you're one of the exceptions but most of them make it hard for the rest of us to understand exactly what it is they're trying to say.

It's the something else that has some of us questioning the reasoning behind some of the complete bans now in operation in other countries and quite what a complete ban might actually achieve in reality here in Britain..

Exaaaaaaactly Maggy!

I think that many people don't like the idea of a multi cultural society ... or like myself, don't like the idea of it being 'by design'.

Personally I'm fine with the Burqa, Hijab etc ... living in Leicester, I get to see plenty of them everyday. But that's me.

As long as people who don't want a multi-cultural society feel stigmatized I think inter-communal tensions are only going to get worse. I don't like zealous political correctness that suggests we have to be either one or the other. We can have both a traditional english culture and a progressive pluralised culture in parralel.

By design?

I don't think so..the way immigration has occurred over the past 70 years has been so ad hoc I really cannot see any design or even any planning as such.If there had been I'm pretty sure race relations would be so much better than they actually are.

Anyway I think it is the unplanned immigration that has caused the most worry and fear and certainly owes nothing to design. The only design involved will be that of the human traffikers in using desperate human beings as a product.

Care to re-assess your post MJ? ;) Design is certainly recent.

BTW Not wishing to politicise the thread.

I did say over 70 years. As to the story I'd point out it was published by what is known as the Torygraph.;)

But this morning Border and Immigration Minister Phil Woolas described the accusations as a 'complete fabrication'.
'It's an old story. It's based on a report that was ten years ago that wasn't accepted by ministers at the time,' he told Radio 4.

It should be banned, like the rest of Religion. No place for it in the educated modern society. Anyone who believes anything written a thousand years ago by a man in a mud hut is a blithering idiot.

They still have a right to believe and who are you to decide to ban all religion?

What is it with my fellow atheists? Some of you are like Aesop's Dog in a Manger. You know, the dog that won't let the horse, cows, sheep in the barn access to the hay EVEN though he can't eat hay himself..

Just because you don't believe it is no excuse to ridicule and persecute those that do.
