I know why I can't get courgettes in the supermarket* but all kinds of lettuce seem to have gone AWOL as well. I thought these were mostly grown hydroponically under glass.

They want to what what grades I got in English & Maths, I left school in 1985. I thought listing my previous jobs (and Salary) and detailing any gaps, was a pain |

I didn't think they asked after a certain point. I always look at it as being the last thing you did as the most important. So the last qualification or job etc.

Why some people think they have the right to judge others totally eludes me. The people who have made comments should be made to walk in your shoes for just a day and I guarantee they would be looking out for anything that could make that day more comfortable. I test my bloods up to 5 times a day at the moment and fully understand your decision to spend your money on the new meter and even if I weren't a fellow diabetic I would still consider that what you spent your money on was your business. I hope these these self appointed financial judges are not CF members as I would hate to think that anyone on the forum was stupid enough to imagine that their adverse opinions of the decisions you make regarding your private life were shared by any members I have come to know and respect. |

Bloody council still in the dark ages: Having got a letter from them about council tax that was completely wrong I send an e-mail to the addy on the letter. No response so I send it again. No response. Send it again today and finally get an answer that it's being transferred to the correct department.
Then I get a letter conforming today what I said. Why no response to my emails? Are you clots still in the dark ages? Utterly pathetic. |

Country file on the BBC has become so infantile, inane, PC and stuffed with strange women presenters, most of whom seemed to have escaped from CBBC's it's just not worth watching. We only put it on to get the weeks weather. So BBC, down to one program worth watching. A pointless channel from a pointless broadcaster. :(
And you want £145 a year for this crap? |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Thanks weenie. One thing I haven't mentioned, one of my relatives passed away last week after a short battle with cancer. I am trying to book the week of the funeral off as holiday, hopefully work will be understanding about it.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Cancer is truly a horrid illness Mark and I'm sure your work will be understanding after all just about everyone has experience of some kind with it sadly.
My Mum is now at stage 4 with the NHL and unfortunately my Mum is in quite a bit of pain with the other cancer she has which is Myeloma. I have been caring for my parents doing hospital visits, meetings with the OT, nurses, cleaning their house etc so that is the reason I am not on the CF much lately. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Sorry to hear about your mum weenie

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Thanks TD it is hard at times and trying to explain to Dad what is happening is not nice at all he is 79 my Mum is 82 and while he fully understands what is happening he forgets some things so I have to explain the test results etc all over again with is upsetting for all concerned.

Just been to the supermarket and got held up for quite some time behind two customers, the first of whom was having a big problem trying to use some store vouchers which wouldn't scan properly. The woman behind him kept tutting away and looking at her watch then, when it was her turn to pay, she spent ages trying to find her purse, her loyalty card, the right cash... Grrrrr... lol

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
My moan is just a minor pet hate that I've always had. Basically, last week in Ipswich our manager (the infamous one I have talked about) went around and took pics of everyone working. And took one of me where I looked like death warmed up, so not particularly pleased about that being included in the weekly newsletter. I have never liked having my pic taken anyway, so if I had seen her taking pics on her phone I would have turned my back and made sure she couldn't get me.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
What annoys me is people who pay with cards and they don't always get excepted at the first go, What's wrong with paying with cash. Then you have no bills coming in

My wee dog is not well again but that is not my moan it's the vets bill.
Consultation £20.42 Metacam oral suspension 32ml (Anti inflamatory) £18.10 Antirobe Caps 300mg £18.50 Total £57.02 VAT £11.40 Grand total £68.42 I have just googled his meds and you can buy them a lot cheaper on line if your brave enough to take the risk that it's not fake meds. I can see why some may be tempted giving the price difference. The vet did say that he is over weight and we should cut down on tip bits, I don't think my wee darling is over weight I think he is just built for cuddles :) and totally perfect. |

I hate it when people compare the raw cost of something when purchasing something, especially service based things like food. "Pfft this would cost £20 if we got in a restaurant!" of course it would, you're also paying for service, chefs, cleaning, the location and allowing them to turn a profit. :banghead:

That is one of the main reasons I picked my new car was the price of road tax, I have went from £270.00 to just £20.00 a year which suits me just fine and even better my average mpg is 52 which is brilliant imo as I only need to fill my car up once a month, whereas hubby still pays £230.00 road tax and is never away from the petrol station.
My moan is today is nothing, today is a good day :) |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Mum at hospital again tomorrow for yet another test she hates this one as it's a bone marrow biopsy if I could I would honestly take this horrid test for her. I think they should just leave her be now tbh after all she is at stage 4 with her NHL why do they need to know about her Myeloma. I just wish I could pick her up and take her away from all this, it's so hard watching all she is going through. I do think after tomorrow she will take no more further tests and I'm with her on that one but certain members of my family want her to take the tests and I just think now why? whats the point!
I just wish they would now listen to my Mum's wishes and not what they want. |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Thanks nash she gets all upset and confused and that alone is hard to witness that is why I think it would be for the best if this is the last test they do given the circumstances. After all she is 82 and if you know what I mean my Mum is a old 82 year old, whereas my Mother in Law is 81 and the difference is night and day as my Mother in Law is still driving and can take care of her self. My Mum can not do anything she can't even make a cup of tea and my Mum needs constant care and support.

I need to find a new job fast, as I think (nobody at work has the balls to give straight answers to my questions) that after March 16 my contract is being terminated. Even though they have approved holiday for me in May, they can't explain why the time for Sunday has been taken down, or why from March 19 I have no work at all. I mean literally nothing. I am doing Sunday through to Thursday (into Friday morning as it is an overnight 12 hour shift at VS in Southampton) then the following Monday to Thursday. After that, nothing. I have emailed my line manager and the Area Manager and neither have replied. Both have read my email though, as I asked for a read receipt. Ugh. Life sucks at the moment. I hope I am just being paranoid.
