I know why I can't get courgettes in the supermarket* but all kinds of lettuce seem to have gone AWOL as well. I thought these were mostly grown hydroponically under glass.

*The rain in Spain.

Yes my partner went in the other day and there were no courgettes there for a pasta bake that was being cooked and the only lettuces were those soft leaves ones which we don't like..

Iceberg lettuces and broccoli rationed as vegetable crisis hits supermarkets

Oh no! They'll be panic buying now, more than they can ever hope to use before it goes off, and the shelves will be stripped.

The other half is doing a course at the moment and they said she had to do gcse maths and English as well, as her previous ones were taken to long ago, the fact she passed both of them over c and has a degree was irrelevant to them, it was only the threat of not taking the course and thereby not paying for it that made them relent but threatened she'd have to do them if she wanted to do level 5

That's not much use if the last thing you did was irrelevant. 'They' concentrate on what you tell them about what you've done and what sort of case you make for the skills, knowledge and experience you have. Reduce that to a reverse chronological list regardless of the situation and you're not doing yourself any favours.

Sorry to hear about that Mark as IMO if one starts to make accusations against someone else then one needs clear proof on why they are accusing that person of such a thing.

It's easier to just keep yourself to yourself. Don't open yourself up to those types who you allow to put you down. If you post things on social media then be prepared for any comeback, good and bad.

Ignore them dilli.

Why some people think they have the right to judge others totally eludes me. The people who have made comments should be made to walk in your shoes for just a day and I guarantee they would be looking out for anything that could make that day more comfortable.

I test my bloods up to 5 times a day at the moment and fully understand your decision to spend your money on the new meter and even if I weren't a fellow diabetic I would still consider that what you spent your money on was your business.

I hope these these self appointed financial judges are not CF members as I would hate to think that anyone on the forum was stupid enough to imagine that their adverse opinions of the decisions you make regarding your private life were shared by any members I have come to know and respect.

I asked ours why they accept Council Tax by Direct Debit, but Council Rent has to be paid by Standing Order. And with 3 "No Collection Weeks" per year, which they still collect, that means every year we have to go through a palaver to claim the 3 weeks' payments back.

Their answer? "We don't know".

Sadly it very easy for some to knock the BBC as its a easy target nowadays and much of it is unjustified as they do some fine stuff IMO and are well worth the licence fee.

My moan is just a minor pet hate that I've always had. Basically, last week in Ipswich our manager (the infamous one I have talked about) went around and took pics of everyone working. And took one of me where I looked like death warmed up, so not particularly pleased about that being included in the weekly newsletter. I have never liked having my pic taken anyway, so if I had seen her taking pics on her phone I would have turned my back and made sure she couldn't get me.

I never carry a lot of cash £30.00 at most as I always use my debit card which suits my needs best, as for paying bills everything is direct debit and one thing is standing which is the wee ones pocket money.

My wee dog is not well again but that is not my moan it's the vets bill.
Consultation £20.42
Metacam oral suspension 32ml (Anti inflamatory) £18.10
Antirobe Caps 300mg £18.50
Total £57.02 VAT £11.40 Grand total £68.42

I have just googled his meds and you can buy them a lot cheaper on line if your brave enough to take the risk that it's not fake meds. I can see why some may be tempted giving the price difference.

The vet did say that he is over weight and we should cut down on tip bits, I don't think my wee darling is over weight I think he is just built for cuddles :) and totally perfect.

Thanks nash, sadly my Mum is not good at all and Dad does not seem to be taking things in and as for my sister she is as much use as a chocolate tea pot and is quite happily leaving everything to me or she seems to be ignoring how much I do and is quite happy with this arrangement. The trouble with my sister is she wants involvement but to take no action or very little and leave the majority of arrangements to me.

I hate it when people compare the raw cost of something when purchasing something, especially service based things like food. "Pfft this would cost £20 if we got in a restaurant!" of course it would, you're also paying for service, chefs, cleaning, the location and allowing them to turn a profit. :banghead:

So sorry to hear this. Nash

Getting back on the transplant list is causing a lot of hassle this time for some reason and it's grating my carrot!

That is one of the main reasons I picked my new car was the price of road tax, I have went from £270.00 to just £20.00 a year which suits me just fine and even better my average mpg is 52 which is brilliant imo as I only need to fill my car up once a month, whereas hubby still pays £230.00 road tax and is never away from the petrol station.

My moan is today is nothing, today is a good day :)

I expect drastic changes to VED ahead for diesel cars. Yet another environmental bandwagon jumped upon before it was properly thought through.

Mum at hospital again tomorrow for yet another test she hates this one as it's a bone marrow biopsy if I could I would honestly take this horrid test for her. I think they should just leave her be now tbh after all she is at stage 4 with her NHL why do they need to know about her Myeloma. I just wish I could pick her up and take her away from all this, it's so hard watching all she is going through. I do think after tomorrow she will take no more further tests and I'm with her on that one but certain members of my family want her to take the tests and I just think now why? whats the point!

I just wish they would now listen to my Mum's wishes and not what they want.

Thanks nash she gets all upset and confused and that alone is hard to witness that is why I think it would be for the best if this is the last test they do given the circumstances. After all she is 82 and if you know what I mean my Mum is a old 82 year old, whereas my Mother in Law is 81 and the difference is night and day as my Mother in Law is still driving and can take care of her self. My Mum can not do anything she can't even make a cup of tea and my Mum needs constant care and support.

Well I don't care and won't be watching it.

Tough times, I'm sure you'll find the strength to provide whatever support she needs though

I need to find a new job fast, as I think (nobody at work has the balls to give straight answers to my questions) that after March 16 my contract is being terminated. Even though they have approved holiday for me in May, they can't explain why the time for Sunday has been taken down, or why from March 19 I have no work at all. I mean literally nothing. I am doing Sunday through to Thursday (into Friday morning as it is an overnight 12 hour shift at VS in Southampton) then the following Monday to Thursday. After that, nothing. I have emailed my line manager and the Area Manager and neither have replied. Both have read my email though, as I asked for a read receipt. Ugh. Life sucks at the moment. I hope I am just being paranoid.

All the best, not a nice procedure.

They need to do mine under general as locals and sedation doesn't stop my gag reflex. I have a replay in April.

Thanks as l was lucky my procedure was first on this morning as yes it certainly ain't nice as l had some uncomfortable gagging :( and was mightily relieved when he said its all finished.:).

The results showed that everything is fine although he said he will talk to my heart consultant and my GP as to changing some of the medication possibly.

Good luck to you Tweetiepooh in April as well.
