Yes highly recommended. If you have a Wetherspoon pub near you give it a try - the food at ours is always excellent and the prices very reasonable. If you like tea/coffee, they're doing free refills all day now for £1.20.

Taking my eldest out tonight as it's one of the few evenings I get to see him these days. :drunk:

Re: What have you just bought?

I was going to buy my Xmas beer (4 cases = 96 cans = £96) but the Polish shop guy insisted I should buy all his stock (6 cases = 144 = £144).

He had been "raided" by Police and Customs and asked how much his beers were. So he told them the price he sells them to the local alkies for, between £1.80 and £2.40.

From next delivery, all receipts must be kept and copied to Customs. So the beer I normally buy is going up from a discounted price of £1 a can to £2.40!!! That's about the same price as Carlsberg Special Brew in UK supermarkets.

And it's more than the Minimum Unit Price the Welsh government want to bring in.

:(:(:(:(

British gas are giving away Hive smart lights + hub at the moment so the Dot will go nicely with them :)

1 Attachment(s)
A new pinch roller (£2.85 Ebay) to help in re-furbishing my Akai GXC-38D cassette deck. It'll need slight fettling to fit as it's not an exact Akai part but it's close enough.

I'll also need a suitable main belt as it's got a kink in it from having not been used for some time.

I'll have to bring the electronics up gently to allow the capacitors to re-form. I may need to replace them. All the switches and sliders will need the magic engineers' spray. Be nice to have a vintage bit of kit working again.:)

Akai tape decks had a good name, don't know about the rest. I also have the reel-to-reel DS4000. (Dolby @ 7 1/2 inches / sec was always decent) This always looks good with the metal spools.

Have they fixed the issues with the Xbox One X UHD player as it was proved to be really terrible compared to the Xbox One S or other UHD players, i think it needed a software update?

Looks like it maybe fixed or have 1 soon.

Congratulations!

I agree - it’s a great feeling. :)

We paid ours off mid-2011, by mainly not reducing payments if the interest rates went down, then with a final payment at the end; we paid off a 25 year mortgage in 18 years.

We should pay off ours in 2019 provided the endowments don't really fail. One is now green lettered the the other is red but we've reduced the sum owed by over 30k so they really would need to lose everything. We are currently on a fixed rate until 2019 so are in the group wanting interest rate rises to help our savings.
