Thank You all for your kind thoughts and wishes.
My goodness, it's a big deal! Next time I hear someone say they donated a kidney they will have my complete respect from me - it sounds so simple!

The nurses won't be swayed on the bribe front.:D Even the ward sister won't budge. You have too find a giggle somewhere don't ya?
The work that that hospital dept does is amazing.

Being around, and chatting to, people going through post op and all sorts of so many conditions really opened my eyes.

Help! - I'm next on the list! :D

I'm so glad that it's over for a while.
I've offered the nurses £50 a day to keep Big eldest there a bit longer than necessary but they were having none of it. :D
I didn't mean to be cryptic - I needed to know that it went well first :)

Glad it all went well! My step Aunt donated one to my step Mum a few years ago & they're both still going strong... :)

As it's still less than 24 hours since your operation I would say that it's been a success then.

As long as there isn't a reason not to do so I have been told to tell you to allow your self some painkillers to help you over the next couple of days, .... advise courtesy of my sister in law who had the operation earlier this summer and is due to go back for her other wrist to be done in November. :)

Had a voucher from Amazon for £20 in May after they messed my order up and I complained, so they sent it as a goodwill gesture. I don't really use Amazon for anything so I kept hold of it.

My Kaspersky AV was coming to an end and I thought about renewing when I noticed Norton were doing 30-day beta trials of their 2012 Internet Security so I decided to download that instead and have been using it for a few weeks, pretty happy with it.

The other day I decided to go with Norton but the 12 month licence was £40 or so and I couldn't justify that so I used the voucher to buy NIS 2011 instead which was very similar and offered good protection.

It arrived today, all good and no problems. I registered on the Norton site and looked through their forums and it mentioned free upgrades for some people.

I went through the options on my new 2011 version and it took me straight to the 2012 download section. It installed, accepted my serial key and now I have 12 months of NIS 2012 for free, a saving of £40 :)

Sorry I have not been on for a while
Been trying to lose weight I was 14 & a half stone but after 3 & a half months of walking between 5 & 10 miles a day I am down to just under 11 stone.
I thought about a exercise bike for the winter months when the weather is unfit for walking looked at a few and they where pretty expensive.I was in Tesco's yesterday and noticed one for £50 on offer for £40 so I decided to get it.I took it to the check out and the lady said that will be £15 please.I said are you sure it says £40 on the ticket. She said well you have a bargain then it's only £15 :)

Congratulations!

My happy thought, spent a great few days (apart from the weather) in the Lakes last weekend.

Stayed at Dale Head Hall.

Great welcome & fantastic (although expensive) meals.

Family run place that used to be the summer residence of the Lord Mayor of Manchester. The owners rescued it when it fell into disrepair and have turned it into a fantastic quiet haven...

My happy thought - my son is having a wonderful time, with experiences that will (hopefully) last him a lifetime, on his Uni Exchange year in South Carolina.

He attended his first College (American) Football match yesterday, USC vs Navy, and there were nearly 79,000 people in the stadium - this is for a College football match.

He said the atmosphere was amazing, and no crowd trouble whatsoever.

That is what happens at a rugby match as there is no trouble?

Yes my friend has just come back from America after going there with his son and they took in a American football match in San Francisco while there and they said that the atmosphere was wonderful and that the fans mingle with each other without any sign of trouble.

I think I was more amazed at 80k crowd at a college match - can't see that happening at a Loughborough vs Essex varsity rugby game.

btw, Columbia (where USC is) has a population of 130k.

Last night I went to the BBC studios in London and saw an episode (5) of Argumental being filmed for Dave.

Sean Lock is the new host and the captains are Robert Webb (Blue) & Seann Walsh (Red), the guests were Tim Vine (Blue) & Stephen Mangan (Red).

Tim Vin was very funny and the only reason I voted 'Blue' regardless what was being discussed :D

I might be seen when it airs as I was in the second row and had a HD camera facing me.

The University of Michigan stadium capacity is 109k.

PS If you think thats good, there are some highschool stadiums in Texas with over 16k capacity.

Well Osem Jnr has just received school prizes for 'Excellence in English', 'Outstanding Academic Achievement' and a place on the school 'Wall of Fame'. I guess that's because, despite not being in the highest academic pathway in his year group, he's actually outperformed most of those who were. :) Of course he doesn't go to a top school or anything like that (far from it in fact) but its results are steadily on the up despite the 'problem' intake and the boy can only do what he's done after all.... :)

Week today we will be in Niagara Falls.

Flying to Toronto then driving via Niagara to Detroit & on to Chicago.

Staying at one of Juliann's cousins rental properties at Cass Lake. :)

Meet the Mother-in-Law time!

Lots of interesting shops in Penzance. Take a look in "Clarenden imports" in the high street, there's an over 18 section. ;) The teetotal bible bashers tried to get this shop closed. Glad they failed.

Just about to get ready to go, will look out for "Clarenden imports" heero. :D

Glad you enjoyed your day out. Did you go into "Mounts Bay Trading"? It's one of my favourite shops. (Up Causeway head) Got quite a few nice ornaments from there. Something of an Alladin's cave. :)

Don't recollect 'Mounts bay Trading' but there again I was in and out of loads of places. Main aim was for Mr Tink's holiday sandals which we managed to get.......at a price.

Got more drawers from Ikea last night - I managed to put them together aside from the hammering and nailing. Which isn't bad I guess :).

While I was at church today the minister turned to Natalie and I and told us 'It's FAR too hot to be cuddling in bed' - not what I was expecting - But very true :)

Just come back from a day out with the wife and kids at Herne Bay. Weather was fantastic! Can't think they've seen so many people swimming in the sea at this time of year in ages. Even managed to get one or two nice shots of our youngest - rarer than hens' teeth they are..... :)
