Yes, then it should be a red card because there is no longer a clear goal scoring opportunity. Like I said, the ref made the right decision last night and in the city game, but in my opinion that rule is unfair and in both instances a yellow card and a penalty is a fair punishment.

I don't think the city penalty was in the box. Not complaining, because offcials have a hard enough job, but as you mentioned "fair", that calls into question the decision.

Well what do you know, another English club, another penalty.:(

And he nearly missed it as well.

The referees in Europe seem to apply things totally differently to their British counterparts in my humble opinion.

It carried on into the box and he was sort of clear away. I mean I think they were both pens but an example than the red card might be a bit too harsh a punishment. Maybe the refs could decide if the foul was cynical, therefore a red, or mistimed, therefore a yellow. Might be too complicated...

Dyer, Routledge and Hernandez look like different players under Gary Monk.

Maybe. Or maybe we tweak too much. If we accept that nothing is perfect, and as long as it was a reasonable judgement call (as opposed to some sort of fix), then why sweat it.

If i was addressing something as a priority, I would have video evidence for any player cheating for a penalty, or getting a player deliberately sent off, by faking injury.

Indeed as they played pretty well last night and lets hope it continues but its still no excuse for sacking a manager by email though is it.

It's a lot of money but a fantastic statement of intent for both him and the club.

The summer will be crucial for United as they will have to attract a high calibre of player and looking at it from a independent angle l think they need at least 5 players this summer.

If they give a penalty how is the goal scoring opportunity denied, it's something they need to look at imo

Good point. As it is an opportunity to score, and has better chance of success. There is no guarantee that the person would have scored if not fouled, especially some strikers :)

Thats what i mean. There should be different rules for in and outside the box. Clear goalscoring opportunity denied in the box = yellow card and penalty. Clear goalscoring opportunity denied outside the box = red card and free kick. A free kick isn't a clear goalscoring opportunity but a penalty is.
