Why was the Everton v City match played today?

Re: Season 2018/2019

It was rescheduled due to City's league Cup commitment. Combined with their future participation in both the FA Cup and Champions League. This was the only viable option.

Yep, realised it could be that after I posted , had forgotten that Chelsea aren’t in Europe this season.

UEFA discuss abolishing the away-goals rule.

About time this archaic unfair rule was got rid of.:tu:

Re: Season 2018/2019

An awful rule. Can remember when Chelsea drew 0-0 with Barcelona at the Nou Camp then were leading 1-0 at home only to have Iniesta score in the last minute and thus send Chelsea out without losing a game.

The game was famous as being 'The disgrace at Stamford Bridge' a play on the comments of Didier Drogba after the game because of the questionable 'bias' refereeing performance. The game itself became a conspiracy for match fixing but was never confirmed and wasn't part of the release from Uefa that confirmed matches had been fixed in the Champions League before. We surely know Chelsea would get revenge 3 years later though. Knocking out Barcelona in the Semi-Final whilst down to ten men, remembered for the now iconic Gary Neville-Torres moment before winning the entire thing in crazy fashion against Bayern in the Allianz.

Another win for Manchester United, Fulham 0-3 Manchester United.

I personally have never been into football but since Jose went i find myself showing an interest in MUs revival, so there must be something wrong with me and maybe i should visit the doctors!

Six changes could have backfired but Fulhams finishing was dire and their overall effort was poor.

Next theee games will go a long way to really showing how good United and Ole are.

Still, 11 points behind 4th place and a zero goal difference turned into 4th place and +17 goal difference since he took over is some turnaround.

Toon done in extra, extra time.

Keeper should have punched it.

Looking at it again Boly definitely fouls the keeper, he has his hands on both shoulders holding him down.

Legend is a word used far too much nowadays but Gordon Banks was a legend in every sense of the word.:(

Just had to catch my breath for a second when that ticker flashed up on my iPad screen. My youngest brother is called Gordon and we share the same surname as the goalkeeping legend.

My bother used to get funny looks from traffic policemen when they asked for his name in the 70's.

Can still picture that save from Pele as if it was yesterday. :(
