That said I doubt we actually know the circumstances of any actual deal. I remember M'Vila last year when we were 'haggling over a few million' and 'Spurs are ready to swoop in' and we hadn't even expressed an interest. :erm:

if its not a bargain then what is? Bender has a 12-13m release clause and Fellaini has a release clause just short of double that. Fellainis taller, prem experience and wants to be a holder although he can attack very very well. Arsenal need to get it done. My worries would be his personal demands tbh but we're not even there yet.

M'Vilas a bore. some actually did say there is no deal or contact or anything on twitter and forums. btw didnt David BBC say there was M'Vila contact?

Sky Sports sources understand Liverpool are interested in signing Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and it will take a bid in the region of £9million for any possible deal.

Twitter and forums said it was 99% done. David BBC was the first one to say it wasn't done and no contact had been made.

not the whole of twitter and forums. dont get carried away. i remember reading peoples posts on both twitter and forums saying Wenger doesnt want him, his attitude sucks, his antics turned Wenger off etc. etc.

people tend to focus too much on the money. I made the general point that wage expenditure tends to be mirrored in league table positions. And this is true (city did finish 2nd). Aston Villa the main current exception but they have dramatically dropped their wages(linked to their relegation scrap)

People come out with "x million should mean y and z". (It needs to be said, teams can hold out for premiums when they know city have cash - is that their fault?)

But it ignores deficiencies in city team:

-lack of proper defensive cover when kompany is injured (near-everpresent in 11/12, missed lots last season)
-lack of pace in midfield
-lack of width to stretch deep defence
-lack of competition in GK pos to keep hart on toes
-lack of creativity from deep/overreliance on silva

I prefer to look at the players. Joleon Lescott is not £24m worth of player, so it's ludicrous to spout that because we paid that much therefore we should win the title.

City's biggest problem imo was letting de Jong go, I think he's so underrated

spend=league finish blah blah its mostly inefficiencies if anything. apart from Fergie whos consistently maintained excellent efficiency with spend? no one, not even Wenger. underachieving is unacceptable, overachieving is excellence, meeting in the middle is ok but every human strives for excellence unless ofcourse your a degenerate.

theres a lot of inefficiency at City because you have people who run the club willing to throw money . teams hold out for premiums because they know they will get it from City.

Yes, they let him go but didn't replace him with anything better

Manchester City can save £3.2m by delaying Manuel Pellegrini's appointment

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...delay-1951301?

That might explain delay

Yep biggest problem imo as I said, he plays such a pivotal role so well but it gets overlooked because he's such a thug.
