Sorry I misinterpreted your post 483 :dozey:

I was only on about it being listed on Virgin Media.com on Wednesday - that all.

But if it do launch we may also get Disney Cinemagic +1 - but the Disney Cinemagic channels will only for Virgin Media viewers who pays £5 per month for Disney Cinemagic or FREE with all of Sky Movies.

Not a problem. thought it was to good to be true . Personally I would prefer it to ESPN as a free bee but that`s life

TCM2 appeared to be stretching old 4:3 content to fit 16:9 yesterday. Given it's only for a few hours a day, it's an odd little channel.

Indeed, quite annoying that it doesn't automatically switch aspect ratio.

Isn't it only HD channels that seem to show 4:3 content in it's original aspect ratio?

No most SD channels do too, but TVs and STBs can stretch 4:3 on SD Channels if they've been set to do so.

However on HD Channels they won't stretch as the channel is always 16:9 so has black bars insterted to keep the 4:3 aspect ratio correct.

Love to know the aspect ratio on the odd advert that gives you a black frame:confused:

If it happens, I hope they don't muck about with Absolute Radio. I love this station, no pop/x-factor acts. Great presenters (Ian Wright for a start) and live football on a Saturday with a great commentator too. I will be devestated if they change it too much:(

Thanks for the info though MB:-)

Thanks - I may well have my TV set to stretch, which I hate!

I think the new owners will keep the Football rights until their deal runs out.

But we may see the following:

-Absolute Radio becoming Planet Rock (AM 1215) on Virgin Channel 915.
-Planet Rock becoming Kerrang Radio on Virgin Channel 924.
-Absolute 80s becoming Heat Radio on Virgin Channel 951.
-Absolute Classic Rock becoming Smash Hits Radio on Virgin Channel 952.

It seems a few channels have dropped to medium plus. Just wondered what sd/hd are being added to XL?

is there a chance that could happen mb,Whilst it is nice to see these new additions this week. Its still a long way off justifying the hefty price increase in feb and with channels moving to lower tiers its more so,really was hoping for itv hd channels, universal hd and maybe disney cinematic hd myself and of course the sky ones.
Is it possible to find out from your insiders when we are going to get some more streaming channels for ipad and tivo to tivo mb,Would appreciate any info. The current line up is a total disgrace,Was hoping whilst bringing new channels they would have sorted some more for us aswell

I agree. I love Absolute 80's. Really enjoy the Frank Skinner show on a Saturday morning. It's part of my weekend entertainment each and every week.

I think that's something all us XL subscribers would like to know. I can't believe that so many channels are being moved down to the cheaper tiers without something new arriving for the top tier.
