nffc, have you any opinions on a guy called Craig Westcarr ?

He is a trialist for CUFC and played on Tuesday night and banged in a couple of goals, ex Nottingham Forest apparantly.

If not, then never mind

Westcarr... hmm... yes he is ex-Forest but he didn't do much for us goal-wise.

To be fair to the lad he didn't get much of a first team chance... and has a slightly risky attitude, but with the right manager he'll definitely do it at that level. He's talented, youngest ever Forest player and that, just got a bit bigheaded I think.

TBH, you could do worse...

Thanks for that, scoring two goals will not have done his chances of a contract any harm, it will be down to Rob Newman (plus finances) if he is to be given that opportunity, no doubt he will be looked at again prior to that decision being made.

Thanks :tu:

Solskjaer suffers new injury blow
Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suffered a new setback in his bid to recover from a knee injury.
Swedish knee specialist Lars Petersson said: "He has picked up a tear inside his knee. It is a very recent injury."
Petersson operated on Solskjaer last year, and added: "I thought he might be back in October but it is impossible to set a date now."

Reading the Mirror this morning, good to see their usual practise of giving disproportionate coverage to the England team ahead of the game tomorrow, as if it's an "us and them" situation with Wales.

I suppose the fact that I pay as much for the Mirror as someone in England doesn't give me a reason to expect anything different

Just life... although you have a valid point there would be more readers of any national paper in England than Wales so it's a case of catering for the majority, or so I'd think.

One thing though... why the Mirror, I've only bought that once and that was when I knew they'd exposed Alan Rogers et al acting like ***** in Nottm and tarnishing the name of Forest... :erm:

Is there not a Welsh version of the Mirror? I'm pretty sure there is a Northern Ireland version as they have a Northern Irish football section which I doubt is in the English one.

Isn't Trinity Mirror the equivalent to the Welsh daily Mirror?

There is a Northen Ireland version of The Sun as well. There was a copy of Thursdays in the canteen at work, the back page was about Sanchez sending Whitley and Mulryne home while according to their website the back page headline that day was about Defoe.

the mirror tends to print all sports stories a day after the sun...

Not even close to being a valid excuse IMO. Although if the paper's price was lowered for readers in Wales because we're the "minority" then I'll be happy with that :)

There used to be a Welsh one up until about 3 years ago. Even in that the English were treated as if they are the only UK nation.

Just been out in Chester...In Brannigans. And met some of the England Under 21 squad, spoke to Carson and Welsh, and Jon Stead. Also saw Anton ferdinand on the pull (amusing) and Glen Johnson. Resisted the urge to tell him he's ****. Jon Stead was a nice fella. John Welsh was there too, spoke to him for a bit, really nice fella, although he was downin the Bud like there was no tomorrow! Few others there too, Carlton Cole... Michael Dawson on the pull and succeeding...they're all big *******s. A good night was had by all Just wish I had their cash

England were rubbish, which must mean that Wales are absolutely appalling.

There's nothing like a spawny 1-0 win, eh? (Chelsea fans will know what I mean).
