The IOS app is universal.

To begin with it was iPad only though, the article I linked to was talking about them making it Universal which they now have but still no Android app.

TiVo App support: We've enabled the connection of your TiVo box to iOS devices through your wireless router to use our fantastic TiVo app, which allows you to control the TiVo box, browse, search and manage recordings all from your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

The IOS app will work on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch this year. The android app will come to Tivo in the future.

I was talking about in the US. I know the one they release over here will be a universal app. To begin with in the US it was iPad only before they made it a universal application.

I was just stating that at the same time they said they were making it a universal app in the US, they also announced an Android app but this is yet to materialise in the US.

Sorry I wasn't disagreeing with you, just pointing out the TiVo Buddy app is now universal.

Why again are you linking to an article that doesn't actual answer the post your were quoting?

I thought only time 3 programs could be recorded at once was if you were watching a recorded program at the same time ? The other day i noticed the three recording lights were on and it was indeed recording 3 programs - 2 planned programs and a "suggestion" whilst we were watching another channel.

I thought Tivo could not do this

As it says a couple of posts further down

I have to say that you are mistaken, teulk. Perhaps you were watching something other than a *live* TV channel, or you were watching one of the channels that was recording. The TiVo only has 3 tuners, so it can't tune to 4 channels simultaneously.

but he said "3 were being recorded while they watched another channel at the same time." This is not supposed to be possible

Two possibilities

a) there is a secret 4th tuner that has somehow become activated
b) the poster was confused / mistaken

Occam's Razor......

There's no question that it was a).

Actually, my tivo has just grown another red recording light, and I can now record 4 shows, and watch a 5th! :D
