l don't care what cup it is as a winter break is a winter break and the policy was agreed by all the relevant parties as you can't suddenly make a agreed policy and then change it just because a few malcontents are having a grumble.

And the FA knew that so quite obviously must have known that the Premier league clubs 1st team squads would not be involved.

Not really, may have skipped between the two, this game great goals, a brave but futile come back. It wasn’t ruined by dubious VAR decisions, and a fluky own goal.;)

Surely you are not one of those who believe Liverpool are in the position they are because of VAR as that is the theory that is doing the rounds..:D:D

No, they are there because they are a good team at a time when all of the rest are ‘in transition’.

l don't disagree that several of the top sides are in transition although l don't think that sentiment applies to Man City.

Some were saying the Premier League was uncompetive because of Liverpool and that some of the not so fashionable sides are doing well but the actual statistics say otherwise.

My view is Man City set the benchmark for several years , Liverpool have followed on from that and its up to the others to get up to that level.

Amusing report about Southend manager Sol Campbell referring to his team as Southampton in an interview HERE

Even more amusing is this snippet from the article.....

Quote:

Campbell's side, who are second from bottom in League Two, are 13 points adrift of safety.

Manchester City have been banned from European competition for the next two seasons after being found to have committed "serious breaches" of Uefa's club licensing and financial fair play regulations.

Does the £25m(30m Euros) get added into the club's accounts and add to their problems of sticking to FFP rules?

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

Unsure. Either way they'll have the option to stagger the payment giving it fairly little consequence anyway. The investigation period in question ended in 2016. Since then City's revenue has undoubtedly grown so they don't really have an issue of meeting FFP legislation anymore. The loss of revenue from missing out on two seasons of Champions League money is worse than the fine.

Not sure the ban will be upheld either. The appeal will already postpone the ban at least a season. Following that being upheld they'll head to the Swiss supreme Court which in turn postpones it until resolved.
