I disagree dude. I would agree with you if we were talking about the difference between shub2 and shub2ac in modem mode but I wouldn't want a shub1 no matter what. When they forced it on me years ago I ended up having to complain to the CEOs office so I could get my vmng300 :romance: back. I know they have fixed the majority of the stability issues now but I still wouldn't have one even if you paid me. Shub2 is the way forward.

Mine changed to 200Mbits today but it also tried to download new firmware to the superhub 2 but failed saying there was no file. I am on V1.01.29

Re: Virgin Media 70, 150 & 200 Mb Upgrades

It took me three live chats to get someone to help as I can see the upgrade is available to new customers but my upgrade page just gives and error saying their IT whizz is working on it...

They said I can upgrade now and mentioned something about it taking 24 hours for the speed increase to arrive - which seems a little odd.

I left it a while before switching off the Superhub for a few minutes and restarted it, but it still only getting 152mb.

the system configuration page shows this :-
Primary Downstream Service Flow
SFID 15879
Max Traffic Rate 168960000 bps
Max Traffic Burst 10000 bytes
Min Traffic Rate 0 bps
Primary Upstream Service Flow
SFID 15878
Max Traffic Rate 12600000 bps
Max Traffic Burst 16320 bytes
Min Traffic Rate 0 bps
Max Concatenated Burst 16320 bps
Scheduling Type BestEffort

I still have a SH1. No mention of requiring a SH2 on the LiveChat.
Any suggestions - do I have to wait 24 hours or will I need an SH2?

If only this was true. They've released the upgrades for everyone in a highly congested student area.

My 200M is "ready to go", but I need an engineer visit to replace my old SH1.

So its going to have to wait now until November as I'm not around much in October.

I guess I need to upgrade my router & local network as well anyway, as its all 100M atm

Weird. I'm given the option of a self install or getting an engineer to do the swap.

I wish I was.

There's just no way for me to be home during the week for the installation to happen, so I used the Live Chat feature to ask if they could just send the Superhub 2 out for a self-install.

They told me no, but they told me they could arrange for a weekend appointment.

They told me that 11/10/2015 (Sunday October 11th) was available, so I thought that sounded ok.

I just checked on the site and they've booked it for Wednesday November 11th - there aren't any appointments in October.

I'm very disappointed. The free upgrade has been a massive nuisance already. I've got to phone up when I get home to cancel the appointment in November, all because the computer won't let them just post the Superhub out to me.

I've upgraded to 200mb via myvirginmedia, has the 100>150 upgrade also started so I can downgrade?

Its good to note to people at this point also how speed testers can give false results.

I just run speedtest.net and got 119mb on Bristol and 125 on London

I ran Thinkbroadband and got 139mb.

Yet i downloaded the flightsim demo which i tend to use as a test file at over 27mb/s.

I have the SH1 so I am guessing I'll need the SH2 in order to get 200mb up and running? I thought the SH1 was able to do 300mb?

Just downgraded from 200mb but only 100mb was available. Still £90 a year better off and when uplifted to 150mb im back were I started but a little richer :)
