Be patient. The messages are from yodel and if it's anything like the first lot it was done over a week

Got a text from Yodel today, so looks mine is on the way today. Will have a play tomorrow with it if that's the case.

You need to be signed into the Community Forum before the Trial Forum will appear.
It's not visible for "the public", so to speak.

Should be at the bottom of the page when logged in, if you can't access them then you need to PM someone.

You should have access to VMMTrial2015 or VMM2Trial2015 but not both.

Got mine an hour ago, will setup tomorrow as being tired is not the brightest idea for setting up new equipment. Can't wait to test it though.

Yes and you don't want to do it late in the day for when you may get problems.

Read the forums as to what to expect as to not be disappointed.

Re: Broadband Hardware Trial 2015

If you're curious about its specifications have a look at this.

It's a 24 downstream, 8 upstream cable modem. With a router delivering 802.11ac WiFi. 4 x GigE ports. Also 2 x RJ-11 telephony ports making it an eMTA.

Sorry to ruin the surprise. ;)

EDIT: Incidentally, for the curious and those of a more cynical bent, and with the inevitable denial in mind as it's a seriously top secret thing a new cable modem, a total game changer because of course if this comes out the competition are bound to come out with better kit to, err, attach to their maximum 80Mb VDSL 2 lines, source.

depends what you call game changer vs £150/£200 routers

According to that link the declared value of that arris device is £64.44 per unit?

Re: Broadband Hardware Trial 2015

Also they appear to have another version of the kit based on the Compal CH7465E.

Virgin Media refuse to comment but their parent have discussed this.

So I guess they are going all kinds of dual vendor it seems.

It was my poor attempt at humour. I am still finding how excited people are getting over it quite entertaining.

Must be my age and cynicism.

I'm with you and it'd go straight into modem mode as I've a far superior router at home but I imagine for those on the original Superhub or even the SH2 non-AC it's a bit of an upgrade.

Both of the hardware models I've heard it to be based on are 2014 kit.

It's a custom device being purchased in large quantities. I find it entirely believable that it'd not be especially expensive.

Can you tell us if the second trial group is trialling different hardware to the first?
