I agree mate but i have a sneaky feeling this new source is on a wind up as none of my other sources have heard anything.

I must admit that I hate those silly high EPG numbers for pay HD channels, the only real case for this is you have to pay extra for HD equivalent channels on the XL TV package and a lot of customers are not willing to do that!

If a old rumour is true then XL is becoming the new HD pack but also a small extra fee is being introduced to get HD equivelant channels of your package, say for example you're on M+ then for a extra £5p/m you'd get Sky1hd etc.

What about the L package? This has most of the channels but without the HD versions. Would the extra £5 apply to this package too?

I think going from L to XL is something like £12, maybe VM have something up their sleeve regarding the XL package?

If you add the £5 hd charge in it it will be £17 i think (i dunno i got rid of vm tv lol), from what i know something is happening with XL i can't say more than that at this moment in time sadly.

That's ok, I understand :)

It makes senses if the XL is having an overhaul especially if the £5 HD fee comes into place.

It definitely needs something to give it that extra ooomph if you like lol

how it got all the channels and HD channels in XL except the premium channels of course so don't know why you think it needs extra ooomph

They could add more HD variants and possibly Netflix into it.

Otherwise people would just take the L package and add the £5HD fee giving you access to virtually the XL package but cheaper. This means VM will have to add something extra to it, giving it that extra ooomph!

So my XL package could be going up by £5 to give me access to the HD channels?? Unless this includes sky sports in HD its basically then just a price increase as i already get all the channels in HD?

Ok, bad example with the HD channels, but it will need more than Netflix to make it more appealing to get people to move from L to XL or attract new customers.

No XL will just have the standard price rise we get every year.

As I understood, the optional £5 fee will give people the HD versions of the channels available on the M, M+ and L TV packages.

This wouldnt change your XL TV price, I wouldn't have thought, as like you say, we have all the HD channels anyway.
