what does that mean ??

Re: The Pirate Bay is blocked (Discuss but do not post detail of how to get round it)

It means, in the simplest term, that their border gateway router has a static route for it to 0.0.0.0

Meaning its impossible to route requests for the requested domain/ip any futher than that BGR.

Of course, its just as easily circumvented as VM's methodology is.

The plot thickens.

MartyH: Not necessarily, null routing can happen anywhere along the route. It could even be TPB's own uplink providers doing the null routing (not likely, but certainly possible).

I can't get anything from any country with VPN's.

Could either the raid they were talking about, they're being DDOSed, they've simply had a hard drive failure.

Hard drive failure would not cause their entire IP range to get dropped at multiple ISP's BGRs.

I can get onto the site but can't start a torrent? I've never actually used them to download anything though.

One site is reporting they are aware of it and there's nothing exciting going on like midnight raids by armed tactical forces :)
