*Stupid Question Alert*

I only joined VM in October on an 18 month contract, should I be expecting a price increase letter now or after the contract is up?

If it is now, can I then cancel?

You can disconnect your services as soon as you get notification of the price increase.

Re: TV price rises

So I phoned retentions the other day to ask what my price rise would be and as expected £3.50. The conversation went along the following lines:

"Fair enough, but a bit off when you agree a deal and start a new 12 month contract on the back of it." He replied "You've got a point, so as you've six months left I'll credit £21 to your account to cancel it out"

Very good of him as I'll only have four months of my contract left when the price rises happen :D

Cheers

Grim

Not had anything about the price increases yet, don't know why they can't put it on My Virgin Media. Then again they can't even manage to make the your broadband speed is increasing popup to only appear once per account, it pops up everytime I login.

Just called VM to clarify the position for us and they confirmed a £3.50 price increase from the 1st April and that I could give 1 months notice at that point to cancel all services should I wish to do so.

He also said that this was a national increase for everyone but they were delivering new features such as doubling Broadband speed and inclusive calls to 0845/0870 numbers (which I hadn't heard about before).

Off to speak to Sky now and if Fibre is a go in my area from April then I think I will be returning to the dark side.

Sky will only have Fibre in your area if BT Infinity is already up and running as they both use openreach. An then even if Infinity is running it still might not mean that Sky are offering fibre yet.

BT Infinity is already up and running here. My exchange is Brookwood. That said, I will just go back to my old ADSL in the short term if I have to, at least it worked consistently!

Hi all I have been told I will have a price rise of £4.85. How on earth did they work that out? We have:

TV XL
2 x V+ boxes (not tivo) one upstairs, one down so multiroom
Talk Evening and weekend
50mb broadband

I am on a retentions deal due to so many issues I had (not that it's amazing just a few pounds discount is all) so maybe that is why ?

XL TV, L Phone, Tivo, XXL BB,

Can feel an angry phone call coming...

Yep same as me, did you find out the breakdown? It sounds petty but unless they cancel this increase out I'll be going to sky I think. Need no more encouragement with the F1 channel fiasco not that that is VMs fault.

Think it will be something like this?

TV XL - £2 (that is definate)
50mb BB - £2.50
Talk E&W - 35p

Call them up, they will be able to tell you the breakdown.
