Keep calm the red button will be there for the start of the season.:)

I have an LG 37 inch television and whenever we are watching an HD channel it is so noticeable and a joy to watch.

I do not understand those who say they can't tell the difference except perhaps if the reason is:

a) The system has not been set up correctly or
b) The viewer has eyesight problems or
c) The TV is not particularly good (maybe it is the cheap end of the market) or
d) The claimant is a Sky fan boy who is trying to damage VM's reputation with baseless claims or
e) There's none so blind as they who will not see.

All I can say is that the difference on our TV is startling. I feel sorry for those who do not notice a difference, for whatever reason. As for why they continue to pay for and watch the HD channels, now there's a good question!

and for the end of the Cricket Season :-(((((((((((((((((((((((((((

I agree mate HD through V+HD is miles better than SD it is also the same with the Sky+HD box.

Erm - are you saying, Denphone, that you are happy with HD? Not sure from your post, but then again, I am an Old Boy and may be missing things.... ;)

Right, moving quickly on to the 'coming soon' stream, I dropped into our Virgin Media shop in Reading on Saturday and made a bit of a fuss about the TIVO box and the need to get Lovefilm and that sort of stuff on it. After all, the latest TVs have this already.

The guy told me that they were expecting Lovefilm to be added to the options within the next three months. He seemed fairly confident about this, but I guess that time will tell.

Now, the thing is, if Lovefilm allow us to get box sets of Boardwalk Empire, Mildred Pierce and Mad Men when it comes, who needs Sky Atlantic?

If this is VM's strategy, I applaud it!! And I welcome VM to the Ideal World scenario of the Old Boy!:handshake

OK, I believe you, denphone, you seem to be a serious kind of person. I can't explain your experience, I only know mine, and please believe me, it is really brilliant. I think you need to do a bit of research on the technical aspects to see why you are not seeing a difference. I'm sure there's an explanation somewhere.

Through the post you may get HBO on DVD but no chance for the forseeable future for streaming.

Yes, I know that, but Boardwalk Empire, for example, has already been screened first on Sky in HD. Surely, that was the exclusivity part of the deal. I can't believe that Sky have secured all of the DVD and internet streaming rights for years to come! How much have they paid, for heaven's sake???!!! Is this legal? (Competition Commission, where are you?) :help:

The Competition Commission are just in a meeting with Rupert Murdoch.
