I'd like to see all sorts of mathematical variations in channel names:

Bravo a2=b2+c2- 2bccosA

Challenge TV tanh(x) = sinh(x)/cosh(x) = ( e x - e -x )/( e x + e -x )

and a personal favourite...

Playboy CI(x) = - (integral)(x to inf)COs(t)/t DT = gamma + ln(x) + (integral)(0 to x) (COs(t) - 1) / t DT (cosine integral)

You would have to get Clive Sinclair back to design the remote control. ;)

For values of soon > ∞, yes. You may have difficulty finding a reasonably numbered hotel room, though...

Also, nothing against anyone and their tireless quest to see HD TV, but there are discussion threads for this. This one is supposed to be 'Coming soon to Virgin' not 'I have a big shiny TV and can't use it' :-)

If people are concerned or interested about forthcoming developments, there is no problem with adding such posts here. I don't think we should get too precious about the nature of these developments (or lack of). Whether they are new channels, HD channels, VOD enhancements or whatever, 'Coming Soon to Virgin TV' is still appropriate.

NBC to rebrand Sci Fi Channel as Syfy

NBC Universal is rebranding its Sci Fi Channel to Syfy on 7 July in the US and will follow suit in other markets at the beginning of Q3 this year.

What is this need for channels to rebrand them selves with a new name. History shows that the biggest, best and most well known companys have had the same name since their birth. Why bother it confuses customers and looses the instant recognition of the company, business or tv channel. And I believe quite costly to do a full rebranding

Indeed. I fail to see why people in ntl areas are not able to access BBC News multiscreen. As you say, if they can do it for sport, albeit only accessible from BBC1 and BBC2 and not from BBC News, then why can't they provide the BBC News multiscreen as well and is there any likelyhood of it appearing on Virgin Media?
