Brian Marwood is the man largely to blame for Manchester City’s unsuccessful summer. To be in line with the new Financial Fair Play rules set out by UEFA, Marwood decided that players would not be bought, until players were sold. However, players were not sold until very late in the transfer window where Adebayor, Weiss, Santa Cruz, De Jong and Johnson all left with 2 weeks or less of the summer transfer window to go.

I wonder what total Chelsea would have forked out to get Ba if it had went through, I highly doubt he was asking for the same contract and fee's his agent's asked us for.

I can't see him signing a contract with us either if he had little interest in taking lower offers from Chelsea.

I said this after the game, Arsenal and Newcastle game was down to some ridiculous defending on our part as well as theirs, just not as poor as us.

Arsenal were good but our defence made them look like Barcelona. Theo's third goal was bad, I actually laughed when he was allowed to pass three defenders and the best any of them could do was kick his leg (which was a penalty anyway) whilst the other two actually stood there and watched him get up and chip the ball in.. madness :D

not sure. we dont need to really offload to sign now the Emirates renewals come in and with a few contracts up in the summer Theo not included. i really dont know. winger, AM, C/DM, LB, CB, GK. obviously all cant be done so do half now then the rest in the summer.

Well, presuming and hoping that the reports are true then it seems both sides backed down. Instead of £100,000 its been suggested that Theo's deal is £90,000 including various bonuses which is still higher than the £75,000 that Arsenal said was their final offer. I think Walcott got the better end of the deal but not to a degree that would have made it difficult for Arsenal to accept. Arsenal were probably moved to compromise to avoid the continued sense of players leaving whilst Walcott probably thinks it's the best club for him.

Still let's not count chickens before they're hatched. Nothing is certain yet. Who knows why this information has been leaked, could be someone trying to apply pressure somewhere.
