Not a good offer in my opinion but at least now Dean can pay my bills in future. You would think they would get our names correct.

Reminds me a bit of the "Tell Sid" campaign for British Gas shares. VM TIVO "Oi Tell Dean".

I am afraid this isnt going to make Sky blink because its a) too expensive for new customers and b) too expensive for new customers which if anything will play into Sky's hands

http://www.sky.com/shop/boxes/

Now i know the old argument but there are all these kewl new features on Tivo that aren't on the V+ but everyone i know is reigning in their spending and aren't going to spend almost £200 on a box.

I think they got this very very wrong and if the early adopters wont pay it then the general punters wont either Luxury TV or not.

LOL I'm a Sky customer mate it was a hint of sarcasm LOL :D Sky won't be to worried.

Can i just say one thing is that if you look at the VM website all the new customers are getting 18 month contracts and all the existing customers that have been sent a email are been offered a 12 month contract?

So can i say that if you do not like it then do not get it and if you want it you will enjoy it?

Rant over

@ Digital Fanatic. - try and take it on the chin mate, I don't think anyone REALLY thinks you've got any control over pricing, they're just venting. We'll all be friends again when something good comes along - whenever that may be. :D

It would be interesting to read take up figures probably confidential VM i read at one stage had well in excess of over 50,000 pre registers,so have no real incentive to offer better deals then they have announced, as i would think demand is outstripping any supply for the immediate future.

I would think outside of this forum many people are quite happily or will be having the installation on the terms offered, the only way it will eventually become lower price is when the early surge has been fulfilled and vm are looking for a higher take up,but that will not be yet.:)

That's totally uncalled for. It's not bug ridden at all.. sure we have some issues but the box works very well.

What i suggest to everyone on here who doesn't agree with the TiVo pricing is too send an e-mail to the CEO'S office neil.berkett@virginmedia.co.uk - they maybe able to give you an even better deal.

I don't agree with install fee, but life is too short.

I am ALLOWED to vent my anger and disgust at the latest development in this on going saga!!

Bull, this is personal and directed to DF, you SAID the pre regs would get a good deal.

THIS IS NOT A GOOD DEAL!

You lied!

FACT!

Scandalous pricing from VM and they should hang their heads in shame, how they have treated their LOYAL and commited tech savy customers!

P**S POOR, we should have expected it, as it's usually the norm with VM and yet we all gave VM a chance this time, and waited for 4 MONTHS, then we get bumped with almost £200 for a box thats not even ours, and an increase in monthly sub! ABYSMAL!!!!

£100 FREE install, now that would have been a "SPECIAL OFFER", not the garbage they have just offered!

V+ will be adequate till they sort that dick turpin pricing out!

Why not take your head out of that dark place that you have secreted it into and take a look at what you have said here.

We the members of staff on here can only tell you facts that are in the public domain and that are not business sensitive otherwise we might as well just hand our notices in at the same time that we post such information.

We try to give you as much up to date information as we can and in many cases ahead of other forums.

We offer our help and advice in our own time and as per our signatures we are not acting in an official capacity because believe this or not this is not an official Virginmedia forum.

If you feel so strongly then send an email to the CEO's office and they may be able to help you instead of venting childish vitriol on a public forum.

No one lies to you on here because if the team thought that we were doing so I doubt they would allow it to continue.

remember that SKY will welcome you with open arms and that no one on here will try to stop you in any way whatsoever.

Cool.. I just got the email, and my name *is* Dean. :D

The 11th April isn't far away, and it's not like my V+ isn't going to disappear before then, so I'm glad they've sent an email to let me know what's going on.

Dean

Just got my email, and it helped me decide not to go ahead with Tivo at this time.

I see Tivo as a luxury, not a necessity, so I will probably get it at my birthday/Christmas.

Not upset, as it's just a piece of kit, not a kidney transplant....

YMMV

try not to blame someone that is only here to help and aim it elsewhere such as the CEO's office as above.
