My suggestion about E!, "unfounded" or otherwise (and we'll see what happens next year) remains my opinion. |

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
E! is a very popular channel amongst the females between 16 to 25 year olds due to their targeted programming. It's rare in the sense that for a female focused channel, it is a complete success. Living was originally a female targeted channel which became more unisex along the way.
There is no way Virgin will be dropping E! It's a great driver for Virgin to get female subscribers off M+ and onto either the L or XL package. Anyway why are we discussing this here anyway? It's the "Coming Soon" thread not channels closing thread. Until someone can post proof anywhere on this forum that E! is leaving Virgin, anything we type about it including this very post is nothing but unsubstantiated pish posh and drivel. |

Then again Arena on BBC2 has some excellent Arts based programming now and in the past i suppose that would go right over the head of an E audience.:D:D |

I've just realised E! is part of the NBC Universal group (now owned by Comcast) so its not a little channel on its own. When VM signs a new "3 screens" deal with NBC, probably E! will be included in that. |

Personally I don't think that VM will drop E! because it is the only channel they have with an exclamation point in its name just as Westward Ho! is the only town in the UK with an exclamation point in its name! ;) That was a question in a Gold Run on Blockbusters last week. "What WH is ... ?" |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
Posted in a new thread, but will also post here as it's "coming soon"! Well next year anyway........
Virgin Media signs BBC sports coverage deal Virgin Media has struck a deal with the BBC to give viewers access to hundreds of hours of extra coverage of major sports events next year, including live video streams from the London 2012 Olympics, through its TiVo service. The wide-ranging deal will give Virgin Media customers access to "enhanced" BBC TV services – the additional video streams and interactive content accessed via the red button – for a range of the corporation's news and sports coverage next year. Significantly, Virgin Media customers will now have access to all 24 streams of coverage that the BBC is broadcasting of various Olympic events. However, the deal also covers the "red button" content of events including Formula One, Wimbledon and Euro 2012. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011...eal?CMP=twt_fd |
