Much rather have ITV 4 HD, Universal HD or Sky Atlantic HD then a HD variant of this channel.

I was only joking. I would really like ITV 4 HD, Universal HD and Nat Geo Wild HD.

If ITV4 HD comes maybe early next year then the other 2 ITV HD channels would also come.

ITV4 HD is the best out of all 3 ITV HD channels IMO.

(Whispers) wouldn't be too upset to see it go!

As has already been mentioned a few times several pages back, PVR is not always the solution and time-shift, however it might be better delivered, is a flexible and useful feature.

It was a totally unfounded comment. E! gets respectable viewing figures.

I know the comment was unfounded. I know it's not likely to go. My wife does not know these things.

I see no reason to upset the status quo!

Same here. CBS Action is also on Freesat and E ! is not on freesat. That is Very weird.

E ! also has better viewing figures than CBS Drama , Sky Living Loves, Eden , Sony TV , Bio , Nat Geo Wild , Crime & Investigation

There is no chance of E ! leaving Virgin Media anytime soon IMO.

Don't forget to watch some science fact too! :tu:

And dont forget the never ending cooking series what now seem to be appearing everywhere, as well as chat shows.

Then there are the 'fusion' shows: celebrities cooking, cooking talent shows, Heston Blumenthal cooking with science (sometimes resulting in science-fiction creations), renovating a river cottage while stalking wildlife to put in your casserole.

I noticed Fanny Cradock on Good Food the other day with her Christmas recipes and I'm sure Delia is still to be found demonstrating simple meals with a few eggs.

Yeah, just like the illegal drug trade, if the authorities concentrated on eliminating the demand, they wouldn't have to eliminate the supply which is generally more difficult. In a democracy, it's hard to control the media but if people were more discerning in their choice of viewing and reading material, the commercial ramifications would do the controlling automatically.

The BBC One / Challenge quiz show Pointless is quite entertaining but it's sometimes astonishing what the contestants and the surveyed public do and don't know. I'm sorry to say it's becoming reminiscent of polls in the US where fewer than 50% of the public knew who the current president was and such like. I'm sure there are some segments of the UK population who know more about the lives of fictional characters on TV or the actors that play them than the important things that directly affect their own lives.

The various BBC and ITV talent shows have produced some good acts but some duds too. Unfortunately, many of the duds from talent and reality  shows have continued to negatively impact our lives by hosting shows of their own and fuelling the tabloids with their dysfunctional lives.

So, if we are to raise the standard of the publicly funded programming, we also need to raise the standard of the commercially funded programming and that requires the public to demand better quality.

Virgin Media are a commercial enterprise and will endeavour to supply the channels that their customers demand (i.e. will pay for). So, in 2012, it's up to us to influence what's "Coming Soon to Virgin TV" so that we get what we want and not what we deserve!

Yeah I know, a simplistic view but it's a starting point.

That 22 million is only for The rights to The Voice for 2 years.

Then add the money for The presenter and The judges and it is even more money wasted.

That money could be have been a lot better spent.

Why on earth is the BBC spending that much when it can afford to send presenters to Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine
