Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has only just started winning our hearts, and it's already on life-support. Its first episode scored an amazing 18 million viewers, after a high-rated football game. The second episode dropped by nearly half, and last night's outing dropped another 18 percent. It came in third, after American Gladiators and reruns of Two And A Half Men and How I Met Your Mother. Sitcom reruns!

not like the US to stop a show early is it, i wish they understood that sci-fi stuff isnt the most popular and not expect it to be #1 everyweek.

Enterprise - S4 confirmed - but will be the last unless viewing figures improve.

Andromeda - S5 should have started filming on May 25th.

Babylon 5 - Rumours of a film are very strong - still awaiting confirmation from JMS.

Stargate - The Atlantis spin-off debuts on the Sci-Fi channel in July. The main series Season 8 also lauches in July.

Dr Who - The BBC have (apparently) settled with Terry Nations estate to allow the Daleks to appear in the new series. The first episode "aliens" are rumoured to be the Autons.

Firefly - A film ("Serenity") with all the cast is in production.

Battlestar Galatica - The series in in production for a 2005 debut.

Dead Like Me - Series 2 is in production for (I think) the Autumn.

Charmed - Rumoured that Season 8 will be the last, not bad considering that S7 hasn't launched yet !.

On a side note - Both incarnations of one of my favourite baddies - "The "Master" from Dr Who - are now deceased. Roger Delgado (the original) died in the early 1970's - His replacement (Anthony Ainsley) passed away a few weeks ago - he was 71.

thanks for the info i am a fan of dr who great stuff.;)

As am I, mind you I'm not getting bogged down in the 'anomalies' between this series & the films & am just enjoying what I think is a good Sci-Fi drama in its own right - I think 'Enterprise' suffered from the same problem, with people not judging it on it's merits, but endlessly comparing with the other series.

I'm afraid I do expect research into the history of the Star Trek universe to be done and to be respected which too many of the writers of different series failed to do especially those of the Enterprise series. It's like someone coming along and changing Dr Who's history for the sake of convenience without even giving a reason as to why.It wouldn't be accepted in other forms of drama such as costume drama or soaps.

I don't disagree, per se, but I don't think it should be a hindrance to enjoying the program - quite ironic if you think about it, that we expect a fictional world to conform to such 'tight' protocols :)

- as for Doctor Who, hasn't that debate about the Master & the Doctor & the number of re-incarnations already occurred ;)

It's just the fact that it's deemed ok in SF and Fantasy series to do this BUT when it comes to mainstream drama it would be deemed as crass not to get basic facts straight.Trouble is I'm still fighting the 'SF is a viable literary genre' battle against a world that still regards it as poor pulp fiction.:(

According to the SFcrowsnest the SciFi Channel has commissioned a 13 episode series of the 'Sanctuary' program, featuring Amanda Tapping, which has previously aired as a 'Web only' taster. It seems likely it will continue in the predominately CGI based genre, however, the success of Beowulf seems to suggest that may not count against it??

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets

Yeah, but it's still not on a UK channel, is it? I just checked in DigiGuide, & there's no sign of it on either Hallmark or ITV, who are the only ones with the rights to it in the UK, AFAIK.

Edit: besides, a quick check of the "usual sources" shows they're already at least 3 weeks into season 2, though only 2 weeks according to TV.com.

The first three episodes of season 2 were leaked a while ago, I watched them a few weeks ago and they are actually quite good. I'm waiting for Ep 4 to come along.
