We know the price. it's "free" as part of your XL sub, or "free" as part of you VIP sub, or £12-£15 per month on its own.

We know the price. So hurry up and do the deal.

I think they'd prefer it to go to every VM customer to get the ad revenue up. VM will want it to be a pay package to keep costs down. Same issue was arrived at with Premiersports

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but I just received a Sports brochure from VM, promoting all the coming sport on all main channels such as Sky, ITV, BBC, etc. No mention of course of BT, so might be VM's attempt to hold onto customers in the wake of losing ESPN and possibly not gaining BT.

because that's the price. worst case scenario should it come is it's £12-£15, same as sky. what evidence is there to say it would be more? £12-£15 isn't 'any price', it's £12-£15. That's my point.

OK I agree. BT Sport should be available and then we all have the choice. Just cant see many people paying the same as available on SKY. I still think Virgin are haggling for a better deal.

What?!? Pure drivel. Lots of people like sports (rugby, cricket, golf, tennis, badminton, rowing, cycling, running, swimming, darts.) I personally "get" football, but have slowly fallen out of love with the game. What I don't "get" is how there is no pride for the English team whilst nearly every other nation still have huge pride. If you look at the Germans, Dutch, Spanish, Italians etc you will see great team spirit and pride in those teams. England simply do not have it and simply can not work as a real team playing "total football", as shown over the last 15 years or so.
If you look at all the sports I have mentioned you will find considerable more passion in the vast majority of players when turning out for national teams, especially the rugby (look at the British Lions - 4 nations playing hard and fair for each other - a few months earlier they were playing for national pride and bragging rights through hard rugby to beat the same said players in the 6 nations.) and cricket teams (google Jimmy Anderson ashes wicket celebrations, and Freddide Flintoff's 5 wickets at lords). Also I suggest you find the post race interview of the 8's rowing team from the 2012 Olympics to see their reaction for coming THIRD (bronze). They gave their all to try and win, when they could have coasted home for a very comfortable second (silver). They were devastated for "letting the country down." Also watch Chris Hoy's podium tears, Jess Ennis's, Mo Farrah's, Andy Murray's, Laura Trott and various rowers and their sheer joy at winning gold. Also Ben Ainsle and his anger over perceived cheating. Mark Cavendish also wore his heart on his sleeve when the Brits were left to head the peloton and which scuppered his chances of winning gold.

Still, I guess I don't know anything about sport just because I think a bunch of overpaid primadonna's who lie, cheat and deceive fellow professionals and fans (far more than in any other sport) don't deserve the money they are paid.

For an "educated" man, you don't really come across as one very often. Won't be on here for much longer, I have a job to get up for in the morning.

I'm not guessing though. That is the confirmed Price of BT Sport my son. £12-£15. as i said, night of the crazies on this place.

If it was to be included in a collection, we know the price of all the collections, so again it wouldn't be a case of 'any price'. if it was added as a bolt on to a collection, it still wouldn't be more than £12-£15 as some of it would be covered by the price of the collection.

at no point are we in an "any price" scenario.

you are a pedant plain and simple, so we'll leave it at that.

Ultimately, BT Sport should be available to Virgin subscribers.
If Virgin cannot thrash out a deal very soon, the pricing should be on a par with what is available to Sky subscribers (£12 - £15) - simples !! or maybe not ?

That's the price bt probably wants virgin to charge, the reason it's taking so long is probably because virgin want to put in xl

Also I question anyone who says they're an avid sports fan but refuses to pay for it. Can't be that big a fan then if you are willing to miss your team in action. An avid fan of something does not miss his team/player/artist in action and would not see the lack of BT Sport, with some of the excellent content they've aquired, as acceptable. the end.

Really? I support my local team, a conference team. I can also go to many other local clubs to watch many other sports locally, support my community and get some fresh air. I guess you just sit and watch the tv and continue to drive the price of sports upwards, not try to bring it downwards!?!

It isn't looking likely you will be able to watch that match, given the choice would you pay 12-15 pound for bt sport as a standalone option?

No. As stated earlier, it is a great deal in the XL package. But would not pay £15 per month for a few Dundee United games per season.

Very true sir, they are just the prices for Sky, who may or may not have been able to get that price due to the size of their customer base. We do not know the price for VM customers yet.

Yeah, sky are terrible. I decided to cancel my solo sky subscription i've had by myself because I cancelled Sky Sports for the summer to save a few quid, in the close season. but when i looked to get it back i see that they've made it so you can't watch the sport in HD unless you sign up for entertainment extra+, full of rubbish I don't want, which added about a £15 a month onto what I was paying. Sky Sports in HD is a deal breaker for me. and the decoder is also rubbish compared to TIVO too.

Best setup at this moment in time should Virgin not get BTS, is keeping Virgin with a decent collection for Sports etc. probably something like Premier collection plus the sports pack in HD. and a freesat setup solely BT Sports. a few people will be on ebay looking for a skyhd box around about now I reckon.
Made up i've got mine. be having sleepless nights otherwise looking forward to us playing Stoke on the 17th huddled over my Laptop on that crappy BT Sport app,

I'm a Rangers fan and only tend to watch Scottish football, and the really big Premiership games. BT have 10 Rangers games, 2 of which will be shown in the first month. I'm not really prepared to pay £15.00 per month for that.

I am 12.900 on my ST Waiting list. So that's out. This is my local team too. Liverpool. I am lucky. 5 times european cup winners on my doorstep. seen us win the lot in my time. every trophy. pride of the city. & I live 6 miles from the ground.

Also that's besides the point. I watch every Premier League game. I don't just watch my own side. I like football alot, you see.

Haha love it Virgin suggest that we all switch to Eurosport to get our sports fix. While the channels are gone the red button is still live on ESPN

Also that's besides the point. I watch every Premier League game. I don't just watch my own side. I like football alot, you see.

You could still help financially support a lower league club by going to see them live at 3.P.M. on a Saturday. There must be other clubs in the surrounding areas?!? You do like football a lot after all, oh wait, they clearly don't have the big names playing though.
You clearly do not like many other sports though. I notice you have chosen to ignore mine and others posts about people who "do not like sports" and "detest football."
Oh, they have not "won the lot" in your time, they have not won the Premier League. Also I could drive 50 miles up the road and watch PL football if I chose to.

I'd watch it if it was between the head of BT and VM, only way they can settle it now!

Did you know that Discovery Communications and TF1 Group own Eurosport.

And John C. Malone is on the Board of Directors of Discovery Communications. He is also chairman of Liberty Global, Inc. who own Virgin Media.

Yes, it was just about to start a show then suddenly cut to a screen. So unless something happens within next 6 hours, looks like BT Sports is not on Virgin.

Midnight is an odd time to take it off air, the TV broadcasting day doesn't end until 6am.

Is there anything on it? ie can interactive streams be accessed?

Looks like ESPN America has been granted an extra day (as per the EPG).

Just before I came to bed it had programming scheduled, whilst ESPN Classic had the channel no longer available message instead.

anyone fancy a hilarious ruse tomorrow in which we select one user, the entire rest of the thread give it 'what do you mean you can't see BTSports on your VM box, the rest of us can see it fine?', and see how long we can keep it up before we get sussed or the mods wheel out the ban hammer?

Seriously this is MBs thread, it amazes me that he hasn't been driven to insanity.. He does his most to keep us informed and all the while he's being constantly derailed by handbag swinging drama queens, and attention seeking numptys. Give it a rest ffs.

On Sky ESPN America was due to have closed at 6am, but at midnight it was taken off air (as was ESPN Classic).

ESPN and ESPN HD have now become Free To View.

What is the status of the ESPN channels on VM?

To be honest, I never watched America or Classic so not fussed about losing them but I did enjoy watching Aussie rules football on ESPN so gutted that's gone now. Will BT Sport be showing it, if so I will be more interested in it launching on Virgin.
