I was meaning more the effect with all them 10 meg modems out there and 100 meg modems on BB , ie contention and slow speeds at peak times.

I'm assung the TiVo 10Mbit will be running on the 'old' network so wouldn't affect 100Mbit

It's £3 total on my bill too, and as I recently went through it with CS (they'd forgotten to put the multiroom discount on) they'd have noticed if it was wrong.

Any news on the iPad app? It would be great if they were able to release it in time for launch. :)

The TiVo has a docsis3 modem and locks onto docsis3 even though its only on ten meg. Not sure why though

Right that was my thinking will this not cause issues when the masses have TIVO and more houses are on 50-100 meg possibly even 200 meg with plenty using YouTube , lovefilm possibly etc on TIVO , peak time could become a nightmare.

If that becomes a problem, more network capacity can be added. This type of bandwidth can be increased by segmenting the network into smaller and smaller groups of devices so is effectively limitless.

Thanks spider plant and aplogies hadn't seen your post :D

Because it can go up to 20Meg:

despite the TiVo box containing a 10Mb cable modem, "Virgin has the ability to increase that to 20Mbps via a software patch for heavy users, or for future services such as 3D content streaming."
I'm guessing it can go beyond that too, just a matter of VM updating a config file I guess, just like they do for the home broadband connections.
