Another thing, any news on ITV 2/3/4 HD, it been over a year now, so will we be getting it?

The license fee is already high enough as it is and you are proposing to increase it by 20% or more and l find that type of thinking staggering to say the least as there is no way the relevent authorities or the public would accept that type of increase not now and or in the next 20 years.
As for the ITV HD channels l am sure they will come along when a agreement can be reached which suits both sides.

If the licence fee is cannot be increased, then can the reqiurement of the lisence fee include, smartphones, tablets and computer as well

Along with Government funding for important services like local radio etc

And an increase of the lisence fee, so you really want the BBC to by like ITV post 1990 broadcasting act

Yes if you put that on top of the channels he wants as well his bill will be a £100 more a month and only a fool will pay that.

Im not so sure, I am very surprised that it has taken so long for ITV 2/3/4 HD to come to Virgin TV, Virgin Media and ITV plc have good relations with each other, in fact Virgin Media almost bought ITV.

I think the real reason we are not getting ITV 2/3/4 HD is that ITV plc's biggest shareholder is Sky and we all know about what they think about Virgin Media

If you don't want to pay more for Virgin TV, with complain to Sky about overcharging for its channels or leave

Sky only own 7.5% of ITV so it has nothing to do with it.

But you are the one pointing out that you want a 20% license fee increase and another 50 channels as well and l am pointing out to you how much more you will have to pay for these things but to put it frankly you need to be a lot more realistic in your thinking as your proposals are frankly crazy to cut a long story short.

Wrong, BSkyB own 17.9% of ITV plc

I understand what you are saying, but my ideas are two seperate ideas

Increasing the Lisence fee is only one option of more funding the bbc, the governement could directly give money for important services like local radio etc

Or they could just drop the remaining sport, merge the two kiddies channels and be happy with the millions they already get.

They should have done that. Free ads for their products = more TiVos in UK living rooms etc. Definitely a way to get a couple back over Sky. Although in the interests of fairness I can't see Virgin Media being allowed to own a 100% stake, or even anywhere near that, in a major broadcaster like ITV.
