I agree. The small numbers watching AMC are due to the small number of subscribers, presumably.

Actually, it's not a bad channel as channels go and would be a welcome addition to Virgin's EPG.

It depends if viewers or BT's cash is more important. At the moment, it's the latter.

Cash is always king and l personally cannot see that changing despite the wise Nostradamus predictions of some on this forum.;)

As per another thread, Comedy Central seems to have dropped down to the lowest package*, not sure if this is temporary or not.

* I assume that they mean M+ as opposed to M (or their equivalents).

Comedy Central was already available on M+ however Comedy Central HD and Comedy Central Extra are currently also available, so presumably another 'free period' that VM have failed to make customers aware of.

I don't really get the bit where they wanted a Scottish News channel at 6pm, we have half an hour of Scottish news at 6.30pm every weekday night, i'm all for the new drama's etc but cannot see this as a real benefit, too much involvement from the SNP for my liking.

Obviously it's the BBC setting themselves up for a post-Independence Scotland.

I genuinely don't understand why we need to have a "Scottish Perspective" on the news.

The current 6:30 news programme covers Scotland (well Glasgow and Edinburgh) but this new 9pm show will cover news from all over but will be made in Scotland. Are people genuinely suggesting the coverage of world events will be better simply because it's made in Scotland? Seems like a waste of the budget.

Not against the channel but a news programme at 9pm seems bizarre.

So does this mean that the BBC believes that if Scotland does have a second referendum, Scotland will vote to remain in the UK?

It seems a bit of a strange time to be announcing a Scottish channel in view of the SNP's attitude to Brexit, and a potential referendum.

The channel is a result of the charter renewal, which the Scottish Government had an involvement in for the first time. It's probably taken till now to iron out the details. Don't think it has any reflection on

a) whether indyref2 will occur
b) the outcome of any indyref2
