And Sir Alex an Oscar for the biggest laugh, I have seen Rooney and Paul Scholes commit worse fouls than that and get away with it. Sir Alex, just because you didn't win he is shouting his mouth off - at least he got his FOUR minutes again.

Quite agree with Arthur here .I remember (and i'm sure Arthur does too)playing football at school in PE on wet autumn afternoon with mud all over your kit and inprints from the laces in your head off a leather caser that weighed a bag of sand in wet weather .

Football related news I'm sure you've all heard about but just in case.

Please take a moment to embrace this song.

I know they always rally to get a song to Christmas #1 on Facebook to ward off the X-factor, but this year it's different, it'd be a crime if this hadn't got it.

Fitting song.

Steven Gerrard "vital" for Liverpool - Brendan Rodgers

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

I know it might be the day of goodwill to all people, but this saga with VP and the Swansea game is starting to get me wound up.

The players of today would not have lasted 5 minutes in the days of Ron Harris and Gazza. All this hype from Ferguson about it could have killed VP, in my opinion VP should have had a straight red for violent conduct, and all he got was a yellow.

Was it the Swansea's player fault that VP moved his head and got in the way of the ball.

This is typical of the players of today, any hint of a foul, penalty or a red card for a player, and the player will go down.

No player should touch the referee in the neat like VP did. We have players that refuse to obey the managers orders also.

The players need to grow up instead of being pampered like Rooney and such likes.

Its true what Harry Redknapp said the other day, he fined a player two weeks wages - 130.000 not bad for two weeks work.

The PL players of today need to grow up.

I won't, don't like the man, I think it's because he's such a bad loser, whilst no sportsman should like losing there's a certain class in doing it gracefully, something he seems to.fail at every time.

I really don't care what you or others think of him. He's a bad loser, so what? Maybe thats why he has been so successful. I just disagreed with your comment that he never loses gracefully or shows class in defeat, not more than any other manager in the league. What he said after losing the league title, to a big rival, in the last seconds of the season, on goal difference, i think shows that.

I'm not affected by the result, I expected a loss today but to push them all the way, I'm proud of my team regardless of the defending. we have players out all over the place but we still went for it.

I have to say I was completely wrong, I said United would beat Madrid but if the defence is as poor as today, it's a landslide in Madrid. I wish all teams well in the European competitions but this need's addressed asap.

If we can push performances like that with up to 7 first team players missing then bring on Arsenal!

Also both managers need a talking to about talking and pressuring the officials

They gave quite a bit of notice. They told everyone the game might be in doubt before the strike was confirmed and ditched in about a day after the strike was called. They can't get the safety certificate for the game if the tube isn't running as there is no where for people to park and it's a 60,000 seater stadium.

He wasn't doing well though. It seems they're being more proactive than they were about Kean, maybe overcompensating to an extent, this is how they've been told to behave.

real decent prospect Jack :tu: I'm not sure Wenger will go for him with Szczesny in the squad but who knows...

Yes it would be nice if we could get him as youth is the future at Liverpool.

It would be a shame to see Ba leave Newcastle. They took a chance on a inconsistent player who was very prone to injury and gave him his best season of his career as a result, now he wants a massive pay raise one season after he signed his contract? Not to mention the fact that he has hardly being setting the league alight this season, he remains a risk in terms of form and injury....

Arsene Wenger asked directly about Villa he said: "Any interest we have in any players has to be kept secret at the moment. I cannot come out with any names."

And on Ba he said: "It is not right to speak about him. If you ask 'do we sign him?' I say no."

It is hypocritical to be fair. Pardew does do the same thing. Most of them do, it's a stressful job and we all get annoyed as fans so imagine what the managers go through.

Pardew did it in the same game twice! When he thought the goal was given offside and the again towards the end when he thought Valencia should have been sent off. But of course that doesn't get reported by the press.

I think you'll find it was us who took a chance on him, despite a good scoring record he has a dodgy knee and went on strike at least once in Germany and he was consistent for us, his goals gave us a chance of staying up in spite of Avram's best efforts.

It's just SAF doing what SAF does. Not saying it's right and if I wasn't a United fan I'd probably get annoyed by him too. But I don't think it matters too much. The FA have acted against him enough times to convince me his rants are harmless enough and won't change much if anything.

I agree. All managers do it so for another manager to say it was wrong for another manager to do is wrong

Indeed he did. Both managers did it so none of them should complain

The FA act against SAF when he does something wrong. Yes sometimes SAF does go a bit OTT with his actions and of course his comments thats what makes SAF the person and manager he his.
