http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp or just when you download, chances are you won't get a solid 10mb everytime you download. Remember the upgrade is for up to 10mb. |

Pay £25 per month and get so much usage allowance included and then anything over your charged per call. Or in this case pay £37.99 per month with 75gb included and pay extra for what you go over by. I can't see any difference in the 2 models and should work much better. After all your calls dont go slower because your on a lower tarrif wy should your bb? |

From 1993 to 2001 I worked for Vodafone, where I was involved in a number of significant product launches that dwarf anything NTL is attempting in these upgrades. OUR product rollout and upgrade plans included - amongst other things:
Perhaps that's why Vodafone managed to grow from nothing to 150 million customers worldwide - and NTL managed to end up filing chapter 11 in a similar time frame. |
Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
on most of the ambit modems dont know about the 250 series but the older version look in the config look at the ethernet connection property as it used to default to 10meg instead of auto or 100meg so this will slow you down

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
if you think about it through it whould make no sense for calls to go slower
but on a serious point you have a ruff idea how much time you have been on the phone it isent as alien a concept as bandwith usage, to some/most/a few people on this forum caps are a familiar and understood conecpt but most "normal" users think i hat is a piece of headware the vodaphone point is a good one but your aveage phone user knows far more than they need to about there phone and service where as your average far less |
Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)

As can clearly be seen (sorry for the duel screen picture) upgrading from 1MB service I am given a choice of 2MB or 10Mb not 2Mb or 3Mb, nowhere does it state that the 10Mb service is available only to new customers or that exsisting customers will only receive 3Mb until they too are upgraded to the 10Mb service. |
Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
Well according to NTL , its not available to STB customers, I will have to wait for next year, even though I am on a samsung stb with 3meg connection and have been since the 3meg upgrade came about. Whats the number for cancellations as this bint on the phone is being very annoying and telling me no one has the upgrade, then they do, then they tell me i can't get it!
Also been told its still being trailed the national launch for all customers on all speeds is December this year........hmm v confusing if you ask me. Typical NTL where one hand has nooooo idea what the other is doing. Told them point blank I am sick of being messed around by them and that I would be leaving |
Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
[QUOTE=Syco]The upgrade screen is an advert of services available to upgrade to.QUOTE]
It's not an advert. That's why the ASA couldn't get involved. |
Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
i phoned cs and stated my brother who is on 1 meg has the option to upgrade to 10 he checked the upgrade speed and said yes he see's it but doesnt understand why. I asked him to downgrade me to 2 meg so i could upgrade to 10 he said he would do it but pretend he never heard what i said.
So i downgraded to 2 meg tried the ntl webpage upgrader and got this message. Error looking up cable modem details for xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (no SMS details). For further help, contact customer support on 0800 052 2000 If you need further help, please contact our customer support (0800 052 2000). Checked the mac address on my modem and it matched the one the website gave me. The cs agent said if that didnt work all he could do is upgrade me back to 3 meg which he did. Any ideas? =/ |
Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
Dobbo that's exactly what I don't want to happen, go through all that and end up back on 3mbit, you never know what that does in billing too :/
Why is it so much trouble! :P |
