You answered your last question at the top of your post, something I alluded to in my post, hyperbole.

And 75 million for VVD has made the big difference, that and somehow getting 142 million for Couthino.

I thought most of the debts the 'bigger' clubs have are sustainable debts . . . trouble I see is that anything less than a top 5 finish probably impacts on the sustainability.

Agree with Den, getting the right players in to suit the system played goes a great way towards success . . until a new manager changes the system of course :D

That was a great bit of business that is for sure plus for the rest of the cash We finally got a decent keeper in as well.

Harry Maguire would you have paid £80 million for him?.

PS, not my village in the screen dump, that’s just a page I subscribe to.;)

. Woodward, of course, spelled out their priorities in one of those absurd investor calls - “playing performance doesn’t really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business” - and it will be the epitaph that follows him when he eventually leaves.

All you need to know about Woodward’s total lack of suitability.

The thing is Jim Woodward is the patsy fall guy for the owners as sadly it seems they will still be there in the next few years and even if Woodward goes won't they will replace him with another patsy.

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

Woodward is no patsy, he was the main mover behind the Glazers takeover in the first place. As long as they can keep bleeding money out of the club he is safe.

Ominous for Liverpool scoring first, Wolves record when going behind as they nearly always do is impressive.

A stat that surprised me, until Salah scored in the 93 minute last week, Rashford, Martial ans Greenwood had scored more goals this season than Mane, Firmino and Salah.

Woodward advised them and in return got a nice cushy well paid job and in the blame game he will be the one taking the rap if heads roll as it won't be the Glazers upping sticks and going elsewhere that is for sure.

l am still not convinced about Martial but United really do need to make sure they look after Rashford and Greenwood but the omens are not good given Rashford was playing when he should not have been playing as he clearly was unfit and nursing a injury.

Takeover V: The return of the Staveley.

Amanda Staveley has been in talks with Mike Ashley about another takeover attempt of Newcastle United. This time she's openly backed by the Saudi Royals.

Not to worry we'll have 3 sequels by August.

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

Project Zebra has emerged and Staveleys old Newcastle purchasing company has become active again. The potential acquisition is a three way split. Saudi Arabia, Amanda Staveley and the Ruebens.

The split is touted at 80/10/10 with Saudi leading the way.

All seems to be happening a bit quick. From breaking news to companies being registered again.

Just a casual £1.4 trillion between them though. Not sure how it's managed to remain secret for four months and then just happen to leak and go wild on a single day. Wonder who's launching the next takeover :D
