Come May, Spurs will be there or there abouts as usual, it's just a shame about Jol.
And the smiling Levy.

Paul Scholes out until next year. :(

Thankfully, Owen Hargreaves is easing himself back in, Carrick should be available soon and Anderson has impressed me in the past few games after a shaky start, have to remember he is only 19. In fact the front five of Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Anderson & Nani have an average age of 21, just think what they will be like when they mature.

TBH both Scholes and Giggsy have not beem up to the usual high standards yet this season but their experience is something that you cannot easily replace.

Jim.

sure they play some of the best football but they don't exactly have great stadiums and the amount of hijackings and carjackings and crime in the cities are also things to consider

Especially as ten of the stadiums they want to use are unfit for the purpose

So, all in all,if it weren't for the fact that it is Brazil, they probably wouldn't have been awarded it.

If it wasn't for the fact that they were the only one who bid for it they probably wouldn't have been awarded it ;)

Plus United get ten grand for their trouble too, not a bad nights work, but needed, as I am sure 50% of the gate receipts go to the visitors?
Now for another Sixteen grand in the first round proper against Aldershot hopefully.

didn't know that. Are you sure it was just them ? Was this part of the Blatter we are only going to give it to South America this time and just waiting for the bids from there ?

I'm sure they can get the stadiums up to standard in time that should be fine, but it's just some of the issues around crime and safety for fans that worries me

Re: Football : Season 2007/2008

There is a rotation system so every continent has a right to host the tournament. However, this is cancelled as of world cup 2018, allowing us to bid for it, which Brown is going to do.

Hosting the Olympics is crazy enough but the Olympics and World Cup within 6 years apart will be an amazing achievement. London will probably be awesome (and stupidly expensive) after that.
