Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Spent the best part of two weeks prepping for an interview, read and re-read hundreds of pages of mind numbing info, ran through loads of different scenarios and examples and did everything I could before it.

And didn't get it, what's worse is nothing I prepared for came up at all. It felt like I'd gone into the wrong room for the interview.

That's sucks. It might not be so bad though and at least it's all out in the open.

It's all good practice if nothing else. Things better pick up soon at my place or I'll be prepping for interviews to, it's okay the bosses saying I'll be the last one out of the door but that just means everyone else will be gone to. Which makes me feel even worse as some of them will never work again.

This isn't a moan or a rant.Just a day of sadness as we lay another family member to rest..too many lately and it makes one ponder on one's own mortality.

Even when they are not on strike they were still pretty bad old boy according to my family as their trains arrived late and were packed to the rafters like sardines and commuters had to cope with sauna like heat temperatures as well and sadly this week looks like its going to be even worse for my family and other commuters as RMT and Southern Rail continue to act for themselves rather then the train commuters who sadly are the last thing they consider it seems.

At work we've just had a 3 day ASA (its to do with procedures and control)

Well we failed and have had it removed, we its needed as part of a major contract we have. without we could lose it.

The worst case scenario is that people will lose their jobs, but if I'm honest the buck stops with certain people (Management who should be sacked).

But NO it will be people like me who will go.

It will take a minimum of 6 months to get it back, 3 months before we can reapply and a 3 month process to get it back.

But if I'm honest, I hope the top boss pulls the plug and closes us down, it will save me quitting.

Plus there are a few people there I despise an would love to see on the dole, as it would wipe the constant smug smile of their faces.

Sleep deprivation. God only knows how I managed to survive yesterday. Picture this, awake at 05:29 on Monday morning, guess when the next time I slept was? 03:30 this morning, 46 hours awake and working for a good 12 hours of that. Sleeping pill tonight, and sorry but not working tomorrow.

My moan: Normally we don't have anything to put in those charity bags but now we're having a purge so when one from "The British Heart Fundation" came through the door at the end of last week I sorted out some old sound clothes and filled it. Put it out yesterday before 8am down by our gate so plainly visible from the road. Did they collect? Did they hell. I forgot and left the bag out overnight and it rained so now the clothes are damp.

They (BHF) can go to hell from now on. I'll give them to another charity that can actually be bothered.

You have to accept she likes you, but that is all.

She may be a naturally affectionate person (to every one) - you mustn't read more into it than just friendliness.

Not sure a boss should really be doling out hugs, especially to someone who seems to have made his feelings known and they're clearly not reciprocated. If it was the other way around I don't think Mark would be getting too much sympathy, in fact he might be the subject of a complaint.

It's been confirmed that I have gallstones :( the good news is that I will be getting my gallbladder removed all going well it will be done by keyhole surgery. I have my pre-op assessment at the end of the month so hopefully it will not be long after that. The pain gallstones cause is horrendous, I have never experienced like it!

The doctor has given me strong pain killers in the mean time.

I've heard it described as worse than childbirth! I wouldn't know but can confirm it's the sort of pain that's beyond words.

The final attack I had resulted in a ride in an ambulance and a nice dose of morphine at A&E and even then I was still uncomfortable! I'd had my pre-op but events overtook me and I ended up having mine out at very short notice (a few hours after the morphine). They didn't bother putting me on the fat free diet for a few weeks before - probably due to family history of gallbladder issues.

I didn't realise how ill I was feeling in the months before the operation until I came round from the surgery - despite being in pain I felt better than I'd done for ages and haven't looked back since. Knowing you can eat anything and not be doubled up in pain later is great.

Cheers

Grim

Sorry to hear this but I thought you may have it. The pain is indeed terrible but the keyhole surgery not too bad thankfully. I had to wait for some months for surgery as mine had become badly infected and I needed a week in hospital to clear that up first. I was only in 2 nights after the surgery and although it was a bit sore afterwards I have had no adverse reaction to any foods and I love dairy products, especially cheese. If anything my digestion feels better since and I get far less indigestion and reflux than before the op.
You'll be fine Weenie and it's far better dealt with than left to flare up and possible cause complications.

Thanks, might not matter. I'm sick of being messed around and now they have changed my Tuesday job without even asking me first if I could change or not.

I don't know what to do, my mum suggested I ask my manager tomorrow why she changed me without asking and also if they are doing this to see if I walk out. If it wasn't for the fact I liked the work I'd have walked long since.

Ugh. I don't need this. Still not 100% but got to drag my butt into work tomorrow. I'm not giving them a medical reason to ditch me.

Whilst they should have contacted you regarding a shift change, I think you may be over-reacting thinking that they are doing it to provoke a reaction.

Sometimes, shifts just get changed.

Can I suggest you grin and bear it, as you need (from what you have posted previously) get some steady employment history on your CV.

Sound advice that it would be sensible to follow

I'd agree. A period of consolidation is required or this is likely to become a recurring theme.

If like myself you have a reason to have MRI scans regularly mention to surgeon!
Procedure taking about 40 minutes, lay down on bed for a couple of hrs then home.

If it's a de fib unit rather than a pacemaker, you will have to get used to going to the de fib clinic for a 15 minute check every six months.
[They just check and adjust the output, nothing to worry about]
My only discomfort was the sleeping on the other side to what I'm used to to avoid any discomfort from unit, which goes after a couple of weeks.
Best of luck mate!

Home sweet home after a very long day at the hospital and a bugger of a old ICD to take out as it was underneath the muscle as the new one seem to go in a lot easier then taking the older one out that's for sure.:)

In quite a bit of pain but tramadol is starting to take the edge off that thankfully.:)

Thank you everybody for your kind wishes.:)

Get well soon den, glad it went OK.

My body feels like someone has used it as a punchbag for boxing training. Took a fall down some concrete steps last night, whilst carrying equipment. My manager was more concerned about me than the equipment, which is as it should be.

She still blows hot and cold though, yesterday before we started work she was moaning at me, in fact she did so until I told her to shut up. She then became all warm and friendly. Women. Why are they so hard to understand?

Bloody NHS. Still waiting on my surgery which I was told is a priority and just got a letter for a meeting with my surgeon for the 14th November!!

Ridiculous!

Sorry to hear of your delays Stephen as its such a disappointment when surgery is delayed and delayed as some of us only know too well ourselves.

That's disgusting. Been signed off until next Tuesday now, I worked last night. Did half the job, went to start after break and I had to be caught as I nearly collapsed. This viral thing is annoying me so much right now, wish I knew where I'd caught it from.

Best settle for a Fish & Chip Supper. Be a shame to spoil your holiday by getting a slap from your lovely wife. :D

Yes if I were happily married, blind and in a wheelchair I think a lap dance would be just the thing to cheer me up

Perhaps they have a Braille version - you feel it rather than see it... ;)

Right by the beach IIRC

Home after a first holiday in 2 years.

Last Sunday was eventful, we went to Hunstanton and went to the cliffs.

My mum couldn't walk on the boulders so I helped her to the stairs, asking if she was ok, she said she was.

But while walking up the stairs she slipped and fell cutting the eyebrow. (She had cataract surgery on that eye 2 weeks earlier)

So claret was spilt and people came to her aid, I don't remember getting up the stairs.

Luckily someone has some steri strips to hold the cut together, while people stayed with my parents, I ran back to my dad's car with my nephew to bring it back to them.

Then the fun started as we didn't know where the hospital was.

We found the first aid station who told us the address and of we went 2.5 hours later we left to go back to the van.

She's is OK and enjoyed the rest of the holiday.

Family. Hate them so much tonight. Yes I failed my GCSE exams, yes I regret it yes I am only just getting work experience but for God's sake don't keep dragging me into petty arguments. So tempted to tell them all where they can all drive into the ocean I'm that annoyed tonight with them.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Idiot drivers - again! I was waiting in a lay-by for the call to collect my wife from the airport. There were 2-3 cars parked about 20m behind me and I'd stopped at the front of the lay-by so that I'd be able to see the oncoming traffic and pull out safely back onto the other side of the road when the time came. Rather than park in all the empty space behind my car, a taxi driver in a minibus decided to pull over right in front of me. Not only was there not enough room for him to do so (the front passenger side wing of the bus was left protruding into the carriageway) but he completely blocked my line of sight so that I had to reverse well away from him before I could safely pull out. If there'd been a car behind me I would not have been able to do so but I don't suppose that registered with the idiot. :nutter:
