Yes, main thing is the Premier League games starting on the 17th, but I'm a Liverpool fan, and there's 3 Liverpool games live on BT sport before the Premier League starts so I need it now!!

Yer me two it's only the Liverpool games I watch and I can't believe I'm gonna miss the derby :(

Totally agree. Would never deal directly with BT. Looks like I may be forced to deal indirectly via Sky though. The complete lack of communication from VM is pathetic.

BT could be a major rival to sky and VM in the TV stakes, if they get more channels, there a long way behind Sky and VM though.

It's a shame VM couldn't of launched a sports channel like BT have..

At least we only loose B rated premier games then. Can see some people getting upset given the low number of games these teams will play this season

You can't deal with them via Sky. It's only available from BT, you will have to phone them for. You will also be billed by BT and Sky.

I see a mass exodus from VM coming tomorrow if nothing happens in regards to the BT Sports channels by 10am !!!

Personally unless BT Sports also took the DTM and NASCAR rights as well (I think they will go back up for auction) not having them makes no difference to me.

I know you're on a wind up :p: but just for clarification, the Merseyside Derby in the Premier League is an A rated game. it is on sky every season and never on Setanta, or ESPN, and from my recollection it wasn't ever on Prem+. But we're going back 11 years there. even United v Spurs, a very high profile game, is sometimes on the likes of ESPN.

Puts to bed the theory that BT have no first picks. The merseyside derby was a first pick.

Wonder what is gonna happen at midnight?

Have to say this is exciting. I think i would be FAR more gutted if I didn't have my sky freesat setup. 'kin lifesaver!

Just retuned my freeview (been a while) to find 3 new channels of interest:-

Ch 57. BT Sport (An info channel I imagine)
Ch 58. BT Sport 1
Ch 59. BT Sport 2

as well as still listing ESPN on Ch 34.

Will be drama if these are available to subscribe too freeview but not VM!

Be interesting to see how many a "mass exodus" is - I bet its a lot less than people think.

I consider myself a die hard footy fan but At the moment I can't see myself jumping ship for BT Sports. I'd prob buy it if it was on VM but prob won't leave if it isn't. I've seen the games and on the balance I don't think it's worth the hassle!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.

I hope any new channels added will not require a reboot of boxes between 1 and 3 in the morning. Am recording a programme for a friend who will be cross if it gets spoilt by new channels.

Saying that, I am looking forward to seeing what channels do launch tomorrow, if any do after all this. I wouldn't want to be in retentions tomorrow for Virgin. It was busy enough today, 30 minutes on hold to Virgin to pay for the line rental up front. Apparently their phone systems had been clogged all day.

I just finished my shift in the Wythenshawe call centre we have had 50 -60 calls queuing all day all about bt sports

On Thursday I said in my e-mail virgin are having a football day we have been told to dress as footballers.

there has been about 12 e-mails flying about for overtime on Thursday for retention calls the more we save the more tickets we get to Manchester united Manchester city matches.

we have also been told that a video conference will happen with bt at 22.15 tonight from hook in Hampshire.

in the retentions department we have been told that if a customer really wants to leave we may be able to offer sky sports half price for 6 months but not in hd. or a broadband upgrade or spotify free

our comms department are saying that virgin is looking to launch bt on the 17th august

I have spoken to the network team (head end ) Bromley they told me they have been told to allocate 4 channels for the 12th August for a slate and when I was messing around on our test boxes hear in the faults dept. channels 992 993 both showing a picture of the bt tower in London saying (bt feed ) mpeg

The SS offer sounds good if true, but another coming soon delay for BT Sports. I think it might be too late by then.
