Pack of 10 L736 coin cells £1.24 delivered. The ones in my JR zap-it cartridge chip resetter are run down. I think this is why I can't reset an Epson black cart that I have reset and refilled before. It still resets clone carts but they use a different chip.

A set of internal organs for my Frankenputer.

The body is a thrown-out HP case (with s478 board) that I picked up free - also has a working DVD-RW.
The internals will be a Core2Duo - was intending to do the full build experience, but ended up getting a bundle of board, RAM, CPU and stock cooler (ebay)
SATA HDD (CeX)
SATA power adapter (Maplin - yeah, twice the price of ebay, but it was just down the road from CeX.
Will try the x4500 graphics first, it might get one of my spare cards.

Maybe fingers crossed and try a cheap ebay key for Win7 or Win10, otherwise it may be a Linux box - possibly Zorin ... tried Zorin on the old board with Intel Extreme :D graphics 2, but it turned the transitions into a slideshow ... was a bit happier with Mint

Manual coffee grinder for breaking up the cat's food pellets ( he sicks them up otherwise.; he is 16 and has virtually no teeth left). It was the second attempt as the first one had a screw drop off and there was no sensible way to put it back on.

A CR2032 lithium coin battery to fix my main PC. It was forgetting the date and time and this morning forgot it's custom boot sequence in the CMOS. (The drives are not in a typical default configuration for historical upgrade reasons).

The old battery was down to 1.5v when I measured it outside. Curiously when running, the machine said it was 2.9V. Guess it's measuring the voltage on the CMOS rather than the real battery.

I've been using the K800 keyboard for about 4 months now and it is an excellent keyboard. Keeps a reasonable charge if you keep the backlight on low enough. Quite a replacement.

Agree with that. If they have what you want they're usually very good price wise and the service is always excellent.

Flights for June to visit California.

Flying into San Francisco, spend 3 nights there (stopping at the Marine Club, which is affiliated to the Victory Services Club in London), then driving down to San Diego over 5 days, with stops off at various points along the Coastal Highway with one night in LA, then 4 nights 5 days in San Diego, flying back from there.

Should be fun (me and SWMBO travelling with another couple, so the driving will be shared).

Sorry no, I had been talking to guys at work and several have done it.

Its called a PCP.

You pay a deposit for the car (Ford up to 35% of the cars value.)

Then 36 monthly payments,.

Then at the end you have 3 options, 1. pay the remaining balance, 2. give the car back, 3. they take the value of the car away from what you owe and put that towards a deposit for another car.

The guys at work say they normally contact you after 2 years to see if you want to upgrade, if you do point 3 above applies.

If they have the car you want in stock (in my case Gent in Belgium) it can take up to 38 days, but if the specs you want are not in stock and the car needs building it can longer (I was told upto 4 months)

Blimey I still have my Parker 25 too, from primary school. We were allowed to use fountain pens as a reward for mastering cursive. It has the aerometric converter and hasn't been inked up for years so I wouldn't fancy trying to fill It without fitting a new one. I think it's the proprietary Parker fitting mind.

Not keen on Montblanc pens mainly because for the price you're getting nothing special in terms of materials. Check out the Namiki Maki-e or Urushi lacquer pens. You're actually getting something precious and unique for your 4 figures and I find that the Jap nibs are far superior on the whole.

As My Xbox One died I bought a new console

1TB Xbox One S (Gears of War 4)

It came with 4 additional games. (Ryse, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Rare Replay) This was £260

I bought another copy of TC GR Wildlands $45

Additionally I bought my nephew a second control as it was £10 off so £45

I was charged £312, apparently I got Wildlands free.

Unbundled price for the above was £537, so saved £226.

Last year I cooked a few lamb legs on our BBQ. It's quite a reasonable size so I was able to put it on the high rack with the coals completely to one side and thereby avoid flare ups from any dripping fat. I covered it with foil for about the first hour then took the foil off for about another hour and I have to say it was superbly tender and succulent. I'll be doing it again as soon as the weather and price of lamb legs permits served with a really nice cous-cous.* Blimey I'm starving now just thinking about it all. :)

* made with: finely chopped spring onions - red onion - celery - cucumber - garlic chives & mint (both from our garden) - corriander - EV olive oil - lemon juice - salt - black pepper - whole sunflower seeds. I never measure anything, just taste, add what's needed and taste again until it's perfect.

Ta Nash, yes I've always got something that needs done, but it keeps me out of mischief. ;)

A new desk/workstation with drawers and filing cabinet for Osem Jnr's bedroom. He'll need the workspace when he takes up his new post in September.

That's the theory... :erm:

He is however a bit of a hoarder so we've a long way to go before we get to the point that his room is tidy most of the time let alone all of it. :)

He's a great lad though and on the Richter scale of problems and annoyances, his few negative traits register very low thankfully.
