Well one small thing, the Start Menu will not work, at all. Using Classic Shell for the time being, the Update MS released to fix it didn't work either, weird.

Did you clean install?

still prefer MPC myself and still install CCCP codec pack as a matter of course.

My main issue is the removal of the old windows update and the choices you had with it and they keep pushing AMD engineering sample drivers which break my HDMI audio and do not cut it in games. Also far to many settings in different places some in Control panel do not work and you have to go looking for it in various other places. Hope they just use one and instead of the setting app they opt for control panel

Not for the last build, which appears to be the culrpit.

I'll clean install when I get the chance, but a very weird bug if indeed just upgrading between builds can kill the Start Menu dead. I had planned to only clean install once Win10 came out properly however, we shall see, as for now Classic Shell does the job fine.

Not sure about the tool, but there will be an ISO according to this matrix

Great news having ISO's :)

Those running 10 as their main system, what have you done re: printers? There is no driver up for 10, and as my printer is well over 7 years old now I doubt a new one would be done for 10. Would the driver for 8 or 8.1 be OK to use for a while?

Got an HP F380 Deskjet if that helps.

No problems with my HP 8450 which must be of the same sort of vintage.

Windows 8 drivers will almost certainly work for most hardware. I run Windows 7 drivers on my epson to get cd printing working the OTB drivers managed to run everything else on it

Admittedly, I don't have a printer (got rid of the last one when when I found that after having it for a few years, I hadn't even printed enough to use the first ream of paper I'd bought with the printer), and my computer no longer has some of the weirder hardware it had (such as a hardware DVD playback card) as I no longer need it, so drivers are not as much of a problem as they once were. I have found, however, that Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers do work on Windows 10 even if the driver does not explicitly support Windows 10.

I am interested to hear why are people checking out Win 10?

I am running a Dell desktop with Win 8.1 using IOBit Start Menu so what is the big gain in moving to 10? Just curious ..

For me it is just something new and FREE, i also wanted the start menu back without having to install other software.

Things off the top of my head

FREE upgrade for the first year
Start menu
Virtual Desktops
Universal apps on desktop
Edge Browser
Xbox games integration
Task View
DirectX 12
Voice assistant notification centre.

Probably plenty of other things hidden under the skin too.

Bored of 8, getting fed up with it continually trying to install 8.1 which at some point installs an update which crashes the laptop, resulting in a clean install. Plus it was free as has been mentioned. And I'm impatient.

Well there will be plenty of people later this year with new machines running 10 that will inevitably come to me to be set up so knowing an OS early is a good thing. Plus its a free upgrade from 8.1 and of course the biggest benefit is Direct X 12 and the possibility of running 2 different GFX together
