Get real and accept other peoples arguments and the pictures of him doing the act and running away with a furled up banner.

No I don't. Why are you so angry? All I did was comment on the impression the picture made on me and of my perspective of his lack of understanding of the issues, after listening to his excuses on the news broadcasts. Meaning, I believed him to have just gone along for the ride, because it may have sounded like a jolly good jape. You then post about him setting fire to a door and for some reason you wrote, "as per this photo he did not know what he was doing with the lighter." I am pretty sure he knew what he was doing with the lighter, but I very much doubt he really knew why. I really don't understand your issue with that.

A picture paints a thousand words and the same pictures are in the Daily Express.

To be fair, it is the Socialist Worker* newspaper, so perhaps he was just trying to save people the pain of accidently picking it up and reading it.....;)

*oxymoron

I never suggested that he was, just that he was playing to the cameras a bit. This over-privileged idiot does not deserve any sympathy at all.

Correct but what he does deserve is a sort sharp shock, A short stay in one of her majesty's hotels will do the trick.

Just been on Sky news right now that the Met may consider using Water Cannons at future demos.

This would have been a bad move on these demonstrations.

There seems to be some confusion in the reporting - on the Sky News site, it is stated that she said
Quote:

"As I speak water cannon has yet to be approved as a piece of equipment," she said.

"It requires legal and democratic oversight."

The Home Secretary also voiced her concern because the nation is more used to policing by consent and not by force.

"I don't think anyone wants to see water cannon being used on the streets of Britain," she said.

So, the use of water cannon is illegal and would need a full change in the law to allow it to be deployed. Hardly up to the Metropolitan Police Service then.

Then they should get the law changed ASAP.

Aah yes, change the law to stop people protesting about laws being changed. That'll go down well. What about when it's something you want to protest about?

Mick 13-12-2010 17:23

Re: Students Rioting in London.

Protesting should always remain a democratic right.

Violent and criminal and generally thuggish behaviour associated with the protesting is what needs to be tackled here.
