You could say that about any tech...

Although extremely annoying, I can see why Apple did this. It's already moved the iPhone's release schedule from the summer to the "fall" (albeit via a delay, not an extra release!), and it makes sense that it would want the iPad to be released around the same time of year. Sales during the "holiday season" should be better than spring...

I doubt that we'll be seeing another one until next October/November. A6X plus Lightning + changes in the LTE area + wanting to change the schedule all combine to give Apple a good reason to mess with things (& anger people) as a one off. There's no need for another refresh in March 2013.

Really annoying, though, as I bought my iPad 3 at launch back in March!:(

Good price on the mini.

OT but after 5 years am very tempted to update my iMac as the new one looks great.

I got one 12 months ago, and I'm glad I did. I'm not ready to lose my DVD drive yet and my desk space is tight, which is one of the reasons the all-in-one form factor of the iMac appeals to me. I would prefer not to have a stand-alone optical drive cluttering the place up, just to save myself half an inch on the depth of the main computer. What's the point in squeezing it thinner anyway? reducing that dimension isn't going to allow it to fit in any spaces it doesn't already and it doesn't need to be any lighter as it's a desktop machine.

Not such a good price when you consider that even taking VAT into account there's a £22 markup on the UK model over the US one.

Does that include US Sales Tax?

I'm glad I didn't get sucked into buying an iPad 3 now :) (my 2 does me just fine for now!)

For which state? Some have sales tax (at different rates to each other) and some don't.

Well, I paid 7% in South Carolina in March, so that as an example.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread

Well, due to the differing tax rates from state to state, the US prices are always listed without sales tax.

As you can get a USB DVD Drive from Apple for £65 I don't see it as a problem, and for the few times I would need to use it. I can store it in a drawer when not in use. Thus keeping desk clutter to a minimum.

But it looks better ;)

The official YouTube app from Google has finally been updated to be a "Universal" iPhone+iPad app, instead of iPhone-only like it was originally.
